Hi,
I know you emailed ages ago but I've just been reading with interest throught the replies to & from various people. I am a Pedder born in Bath, my father John Pedder was also born in Bath - an only child from Olwen & William Ernest Pedder (who is now nearly 90yrs old & still living in Bath). My grandfather was one of three (Robert, William & Elizabeth) but was orphaned during the war. His mother's maiden name was Jeffries & his father died young in a motorbike accident. Where is your link in Bath/Bristol? The responses on the web seem to suggest there are a lot of Pedders around the Nottingham, Liverpool & Kent area. My grandfather did not live in Bath as a child.
Let me know if this helps. I only have info on my small family & am an extreme amateur in the family ancestry thing..

Re: Any contact from Pedders in Lancashire
Hello My grandfather, David MacDonald Pedder, was born in Barrow in 1888 but moved to Preston approx 1908. I was told he was illigitimate, his mother was Flora MacDonald. He was brought up with Joseph and Martha Pedder. Joseph was born in Preston and Martha was born in Scotland. My grandfather married Hannah Harrison and died in 1963 in Preston.

Re: Any contact from Pedders in Lancashire
My wife is a direct descendant of the Preston branch of the Pedder family, those who owned Pedder's Bank. There were several different Pedder families in Lancashire.
