Hi, long time huh!!! I have been doing a lot of things and got away from all of this but it keeps naging at me so I am Back. I am still having troable with the family of Barnabus Peck I have found out that the John atterton said to be William Attertons fanther is really his grandfather. He is Susan's father. She married Barnabus a year later. I had a cousin in England who found this out. Williams really father is not known, but Barnabus raised him and is really his father in my eyes and feel that his family needs to be found. deserves to be I can't find anything on him or any of a family and I know he had a family. Do you have anything on them??? or anything on the Atterton which is my family. William came to the United States from England in 1903 and he was comming to Utah and he disappeared He was never heard from again. His son came to utah a year later to find him and there was no trace. Someone told him that he proably was murded for his momey if he was saving it for his family to come over. But he couldn't have too much as it was only a year, and in 1903 and 04 they keep good records of all actions of deaths and murders. I've been searching for years for the birth of James Walker Peck (b. ca. 1803, son of Wm. Peck and Susannah Walker)who lived in Brooklyn, Kings, NY from about 1830 until his death in 1887. Every record showed his birthplace simply as "New York". I have just been able to find him in the 1865 State Census and it says he was born in Orange County. The 1800 census shows two William Peck families in Orange County, one in Montgomery and one in Blooming Grove.
James may have had, among others, siblings named Robert b. ca. 1805, Eliza b. ca. 1807, and William b. ca. 1810. Does anyone know anything about Wm. Peck, Susannah Walker and their family? I believe the entire family moved to NYC in the early 1820's.

You are correct. Origen O. Peck was born abt 1834. His father Col. Otis O. Peck was born 1790. Col. Otis' gravestone can be viewed at www.findagrave.com - Elmwood Cemetery, Barre, Washington County, Vermont. Along with mother, Salley and other family. In addition to Origen's wife Frances (who was named in a suit contesting disbursement after his death), I found a 'Minerva' as a previous wife, after Susan. Does anyone have further details on Minerva?
Frances also remarried after Origen's death, to a F. H. Jenkins. I have photo copies of articles re her in a Deer Park, Spokane County newspaper. Also...Frances shares a stone with O.O. Peck in Greenwood Cemetery, Spokane. Her name on that is: Frances E. Peck Velguth... What is the Velguth connection?

I have some photocopies of Spokane newspaper clippings having to do with O.O. Peck's silver claim; also his wife at Idlewild and her subsequent marriage to Jenkins after O.O.'s death. Also references re son Everett H. Peck...

CHICAGO, Illinois. -- Marie Elizabeth Peck, 86, formerly of Muscatine, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at the Imperial Nursing Home where she was residing.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. James Trosen of the Faith United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Macular Degeneration Foundation or the Timothy O. Peck
Memorial Award Fund at the University of Iowa, which benefits students of Bettendorf High
School.

Mrs. Peck was born on Nov. 17, 1914, in Muscatine, the daughter of Dr. Martin and Ella Schwalm Bomke. She married Roy Peck of Muscatine in 1938.

She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1932, and attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville, Tenn.; the University of Chicago; and she graduated from the Louisiana State University in 1936.

From 1950 to 1959, they owned Peck Ford Sales in Muscatine. In 1962, Mrs. Peck received her masters in guidance and counseling from the University of Iowa while at the same time teaching English, journalism and social studies at the Nichols High School and later at Louisa-Muscatine High School. In 1963, she became a guidance counselor at Bettendorf High School, retiring in 1980.

She was a founding member of the Muscatine General Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, the King's Daughters and the Faith United Church of Christ in Muscatine. Following her retirement, she served on the board of directors for the Muscatine Art Center and the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Page and her husband, Chris, of Chicago, and two step-grandchildren, Michael Page and his wife, Barbara, and Christopher Page.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Timothy Otis Peck.

MONTPELIER, Iowa - Jeanette Peck, 71, Montpelier, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at her home surrounded by her family after an extended and courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2006, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, 333 W. Lotte St., Blue Grass. Burial will be at Montpelier Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Church or to the Brad Peck Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Mrs. Peck was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Muscatine, the daughter of Les and Medrith Richards Bird. She married Robert Lawrence Peck and they have celebrated more than 54 years of marriage.

She and her husband were blessed with a daughter and two sons.

She had been employed at Davenport Lutheran Home for many years.

She was very proud of her family, she even stated in writing, 'I want to thank you all for what a beautiful family and life I've had, I love you all.'

MORNING SUN, Iowa -- A. Raymond Peck, 94, a resident of the Morning Sun Care Center since February 2004, formerly of Oakville, and Winter Haven, Fla. since 1965, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington.

Mr. Peck was born Oct. 18, 1910, in Elrick, the son of Albert Louis and Susan Margaret Elrick Peck. He married Helen Louise Samuels Dec. 5, 1936, in Monmouth, Ill. She preceded him in death May 28, 1996.

He had been an owner and driver of his trucking service in Oakville and also drove for the Oakville Consolidated School.

When living in Florida, he was a member of Winter Haven Christian Church.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sisters, Mae Bailey, Agnes Gast and Susan in infancy; three brothers, Ralph Peck, J. Dewey Peck and Lee Peck; and a special son, Donald Zippe.

Mr. Peck was born May 19, 1916, in Mediapolis, the son of John and Hilda Watkins Peck. He married 'Dot' Acuff April 26, 1941, in Mount Pleasant.

He went to the Fairview School in rural Louisa County.

He was a farmer throughout his life in the Oakville area.

He attended Oakville Community Bible Church. He enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Texas. He loved pitching horseshoes and fishing in Texas.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol Gerst and husband, Kenny, of Oakville; a son, Ernie Peck and wife, Harla, of Oakville; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, LaVera Poe of Lenexa, Kan., and Doreen Christman of Brashear, Mo.

Mrs. Peck was born on Aug. 25, 1901, in Grandview, the daughter of J.P. and Mary Hahn Kemp. She married J. Dewey Peck on June 28, 1922, in Burlington. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1987.

She attended school in Grandview and graduated from Muscatine High School.

She was a school teacher and then a beautician before her marriage. She was a homemaker on the farm and assisted her husband in showing movies at area theaters.

She enjoyed her garden and life on the farm where she loved to entertain her family.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mediapolis, and a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Mediapolis.

Survivors include two sisters, Ethel N. Buster of Wapello and Ruth 'Star' Townsley of Donnellson; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Kenneth and Phillip Kemp; and three sisters, Grace Kopf, Mabel Kemp and Lila Arihood.

Mrs. Peck was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Varner of Muscatine, and Janet Fuller of Iowa City; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Sywassink of Muscatine; Albert Sywassink of Wilton; and two sisters, Myrta Kaufmann of Muscatine; Esther Sywassink of Garnett, Kansas.

He and his wife had celebrated more than 54 years of marriage and were blessed with a daughter and two sons.

He retired after many years of service at the Rock Island Arsenal where he worked in the Casting Department. He had previously been employed for many years at the former Frank's Foundry.

He owned and operated Midwest Sandblasting and farmed with his father. He was a volunteer fireman for the Fruitland Fire Department and an auctioneer.

He enjoyed woodworking, collecting eagles and toy John Deere tractors.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tricia Wagner and husband, Ron of, Letts; his parents, Mernon W. and Blanche L. Peck Sr. of Muscatine; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents and a step-grandfather.

I have always been told that I am related to Gregory Peck but cant find evidence.My Grandfather was a Brosnan in Tralee.(I know like needle in haystack) The 1911 census is now online and the papers have all been scanned in so perhaps you could check that for clues. just came across a bible on the Peck family that was listed on ebay in December of 2007. Some of the names included Otis Peck born 22 Apr 1790. Otis Peck to Salley Baley married 12 March 1816. Luthera Bassett Thwing's birthdate is 7 Oct 1847, Barre, VT, and she married James Thwing, 5 Aug 1845 in Barre, VT. He was born 11 May 1817 in Barre, Washington, VT son of John Thwing and Sarah Smith. My sister-in-law is descended from Alice Zebitha Potter daughter of Lewis Peck Potter and Luthera Thwing. Although I have no actual knowledge on this particular person, I am from a branch of this family. My grandfather was Charles Albert Peck, he died 5 years ago aged 67. He has 2 sisters that I know of who were called Hilda and June. Hilda died when I was very young but I was wondering if maybe your Hilda was my grandfather's father's sister (if that makes sense). Although she died when I was young I don't believe that the Hilda I knew would have been old enough to be your Hilda. I am trying to trace my family tree back myself and will let you know if I discover anymore about this person

I have been looking for info on Jethleel Peck and wonder whether he is a Rev. war patriot.Lydia Peck was a daughter of Jethleel and Olive Hyde Peck.I am related to Lydia through the marraige of Lydia to Ebenezer Huntington. Marian, I am interested in Benson Peck also as a landlord. My great grandfather roomed there and was in Illinois during the sinking of the Lady Elgin. we are trying to find out why. there is a Charles Peck in Winnetka IL. We are wondering if related to Benson. I do have some info for you if you do not have it. Benson was born in Whitehall,Washington Co., NY in 1823, son of Seth Peck. He married Mary Jane Ward and had two children Ella born Nov. 1855 in WI died after 1920 and Hugh born 1873 and died 1888. Please let me know if this is the same family and maybe share some information with me.

I would appreciate any info you may have on the Pennsylvania Peck/Pick families that came from Switzerland by way of Prussia Germany. I am decended from Joannis Pick 1705-1786 to jacob to John Adam to Henry to Jacob to John Wesley to James C.Peck who was my Father.

Go to my family tree at Geni.com,sign in and create your own tree if you like but the info you are looking for is there as John Adam was my gggg grandfather. The tree will take you back to 1705 Joannis Pick father of Jacobe who was the father of John Adam,John Jacobe,John Nickel.

He was born May 12, 1951 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Vernon Junit and Anna May Basinger Peck.
He was raised in McElhattan,
moved to Castanea in 1961. and to Lamar in 1976.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Peck, at home.

A 1970 graduate of Lock Haven High School,
he was employed at T.A. truck stop in Lamar for 32 years.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Phillies baseball, cooking on the grill and having a fire in his fire pit.

Surviving, along with his wife, are a sister, Sharon (David) Solt of Tom's River, N.J.;
two half-sisters, Hope Weaver of Alexandria, Pa.
and Delorise Gallo of Avis;
and a brother, David Peck of Denver, Colo.

At his request, there will be no services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, Pa. 17701.

Dupage County was prominent in the Underground Railroad in northern Illinois. There are mentions of Sheldon Peck and his home in Lombard, IL which was a stopping point for fleeing slaves. If you are a member of Ancestry.com, search Member Trees ( http://tinyurl.com/meg8cl ) for Henry Wesley Peck. One of the trees that will come up is Peck Family Tree owned by GaryPeck75 This tree has Frank Peck who m. Pauline Meaney & had Elmer Francis Peck.

The 1930 census for Kewanee, Henry Co., Illinois shows Frank & Pauline Peck with sons, Raymond, Donald, Robert & Elmer.

The 1880 census for Henry Peck is below. One of his sone is William F. who is age 2. There is a WWI draft card for William Frank Peck who was b. 22 Jan 1878. His wife is Pauline Peck. This draft card was filed in Henry Co., Illinois.

I am trying to locate any family left on my dad's side of the family. He was born in Wyanet, Illinois on September, 7,1909 to Frank and Pauline Peck. He married Helen Sauer in Kewanee, Illinois. He had several brothers who lived in either Utah or California. They are all deceased. My dad died on November 11, 1968. He is of British decent, we believe.

Hello. I'm also looking for inforamtion on a Mrs Ellen Peck, all i know is that she was married to Francis Peck in Aug 1937 when their son (Brian) was born in Shropshire, England. I have not been able to find any other details relating to these 2 Pecks. Brian was later adopted into the Price family and this is where my info has come from.
No marriage record, no dates of birth. Brians birth certificate indicates that Ellen's husband was in the forces - but without dates of birth, you could say i've hit a brick wall hence my e-mail today, just incase it could be the same Ellen. Hope you can help. Jules

This is my great-great grandparents.

Actually it is Sedalia, Ohio in Madison County. He, at one time owned the store I believe, but I know his son LeRoy owned it. It was called Peck Stores. They sold groceries and even had trucks that delivered them to people who couldn't make it to the store. It was considered a gathering place for many of the locals. It had wood floors and stained glass windows. They had small stools that the men would sit on around the wood burning stove and talk.

His wife's name was Esta Mae Shinkle. 1882-1957

Ah, the question of the hour...I have researched Amaziah extensively and this is what I believe to be true: Amaziah is a son of Israel Winchester Peck, from his first marriage to Elizabeth Carpenter. The fact that Israel's and Amaziah's wives were related and the fact that when Israel's returned to Rehoboth after being warned out the first time Amaziah first appeared in town and Amaziah married Hannah and Israel took a new wife. The family was again warned out of town and the Carpenters travled with them to Swanzey, NH (Israel's first wife's cousin was a Rev. which was Hannah's uncle). The reason they were warned out of town is a long story. The Israel Peck family came back and forth between NH & MA several times before settling in VT. NH was unsettled and indian raids on the settlements ran rapid. It is difficult to accurately calculate Amaziah's birth-there are several on-line accounts and records which vary quite a bit. I have calculated his birth to be 7/20/1741 or possibly 1740 and his son Otis: 4/22/1790. Feel free to e-mail me to discuss any of this further.
