Susanna Peck/Albert Stout Otoe County NE

I am hoping someone will know something about a land patent issued 12/6/1860 for 160 acres in Otoe County NE. Patentees were Albert Stout & Susanna Peck. Warrantee was Pegleg Peck. I can't find them on census and I assume Pegleg was a nickname? Otoe County NE is not terribly far north of Marshall County KS. My Stout family in Marshall County KS arrived in 1858. They had a son Albert who virtually disappeared (off paper anyway)within a couple years of arrival. I'm trying to determine if this Albert Stout could be the same one? I'd appreciate any help anyone could give in this matter. Thanks

I am looking for the parents and siblings of William Willett Peck born August 02, 1805 presumably in Orange County, NY. He is found in the 1840 and 1850 census in Montgomery, Orange,NY. He married Julia Anderson Fredericks. He is buried in the Brick Reform Church Cemetery in Montgomery,Orange, NY. There is some speculation that an Elsie Willet Peck born in 1809 might be his sister, she is also from Montgomery, NY and married William Cole Sherman. This is speculation is based on middle name being the same. Thank you.
Duane H. Peck, wife Amelia C. Peck Jefferson Co. NY 1870s-1900s

Looking for marriage and/or burial information for Duane H. Peck and Amelia C. ____ to prove her maiden name.

Duane born about 1841 is son of Martha Peck: had brother John F. and sister Celestia E. according to census information. He seems to have married Amelia in mid 1860's - one son James [born 1878, living with parents in 1900 census]. This family moved around: Jefferson County NY - towns of Champion, Wilna [Carthage] and Lafargeville. [He is not either of the Alexandria area Duane Peck's].

I'm looking for my ggg-aunt Amelia Carncross born about 1845 + or -. My only clues are that she took off in mid-late teenage years from Smyrna, Chenango Co. NY - "evil stepmother syndrome". She may have said she was older, which would explain census birth given as about 1841. Her brother Lewis Carncross, Jr. visited her in La Fargeville some forty years later - early 1900s. [Her uncles had lived briefly in Jefferson and Lewis county many years before; there is a more distantly related Carncross/Carncrose group in those counties as well - all part of earlier migration from Montgomery Co. NY]

Duane Peck is best match I have come up with - need someone of you Peck experts to help me prove, one way or the other. Thanks.

Seeking any information on N. B. Peck. I am trying to find where they may have been living in 1891 and where his wife Rosa is buried.
It is written that N. B. Peck was from Arthur, Kansas. While I find no town by that name, there was an Arthur post office in Hodgeman County, Kansas from 1878-1890.
A marriage record shows that N. B. Peck, age 23, was married to Rosa F. Wimp, age 23, in Harvey County, Kansas in 1887. Family notes say that Rosa died in 1891, so N. B. and Rosa do not appear in any census following their marriage. An N. B. Peck is listed in a Meade County, Kansas newspaper in 1910 and states that he was their former station agent and was visiting from Plymouth, Nebraska.

Thursday, May 12, 1887 Page 4
George B. Peck, whose mother lives in Onondaga county, N,Y, committed suicide in front of the residence of W. H. Dodge, a well-to-do farmer, two miles north of Elkhorn, Wis., on the 5th. It seems that Peck married Dodge's daughter a year ago while she was teaching school at Wyoming, N.Y., against the wishes of the young lady's parents. A separation was brought about and Peck went to Michigan. He appeared at Dodge's house and after an unsatisfactory interview with his wife took his life in....

I am not related to this family, just passing on this information which comes from a webpage called "Sault Ste.
Peck DNA Study

I and some cousins of mine are starting a Peck DNA study. When we get our lab resuklts back they should confirm (as we believe) that we are distant cousins all descended from Conrad Peck of PA. Now I would like to invite other Pecks (who may or not be related) to also participate so we can either extend own known boundaries of the family or confirm which lines are not related.
You can contact me at rwpeck at aol dot com

Amaziah Peck/Hannah Carpenter of Barre, VT

According to the Vermont Historical Society, Amaziah was originally from Rhode Island or Mass. In checking the vital records for both states I have yet to find a connection to any Peck family in either state. Hoping that someone has some info...

Amaziah would have been born abt. 1743 and d. 1823 in a mining accident. Hannah was b. July 14, 1755 in Rehoboth, MA (which makes me believe that Amaziah must be of the Rehoboth Pecks). Hannah's father was Jonathan who married Abigail Walker. Amaziah and Hannah's children are Hannah b. 10/22/1780, Jonathan b. 6/20/1783, Carpenter b. 4/26/1785, Levi b. 1/18/1788, Otis b. 4/22/1790, Orinda b. 7/24/1792, Lewis b.? and Charlotte b. ?

Any info or help in the right direction would be appreciated!!

Does anyone know which family this John H. Peck belongs to?

1900 census in Port Chester, Rye, Westchester Co. shows Peck family:
John H., b.Nov 1840 CT
Julia, b.Feb 1857 NY
Edith, b.Jun 1888 NY
Clarence C., b.Dec 1889 NY
Edward F., b.Jul 1892 NY
Elsa, b.Dec 1899 NY

1910 census shows Julia, widowed, with Edith, Clarence and Edward.

Edith married Joseph P. Wolfelsperger, son of Joseph and Cecelia who were both born in Germany and came to the US in 1886. No children were listed with them in census records.

Clarence was living with his mother in 1920 - not identified in 1930. Did he marry?

Edward Francis married Ethel M. ?, b.abt. 1893 NY
Children: Dorothy M. b.abt 1915 in Brooklyn
Ruth F., b.abt. 1917 in Brooklyn
Who did Dorothy and Ruth marry?

Elsa was not found on the 1910 census and Julia says that she has borne 6 children but only 3 are living.

I believe that Julia may be Julia Plant, daughter of Richard and Maria (Cavanaugh) Plant of New York City (both born in Ireland) and sister of "my" Katherine Plant who was the 2nd wife of John D. Barreto of Cuba. John and Katherine also lived in Port Chester.

Thanks for any further info on any of these folks,
Teresa
Hey Ya'll,
Here is my Mother's genealogy as far as I know so far. My GGGGgrandparents were George and Elizabeth Peck Bishop. I knew the parents of Elizabeth were Corad and Catherine Peck. I've recently learned that the father of Catherine was Israel Friend. Conrad Peck1 and Catherine Friend Peck were among some of the first settlers in Bedford County, PA. (now Fulton Co.). They had lost much, including children, to Indian attacks. They were some of the Founders of Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church in 1752. Early Church members had to have Sentries posted at the doors in case of attack. Israel Friend is my GGGGGGgrandfather. My other GGGGGGgrandfather is the Rev. Joseph Powell, 1st. Pastor of Tonoloway Church from 1765 until his death in 1804. Rev. Joseph Powell and Rachel rose Powell were the parents of Mary, who married Jacob Bishop. They were the parents of George Bishop. Any of ya'll connected to my lines? John C. Bass,Sr. in S.E. Mississippi.

Most of children were in and around Germantown, Ohio area and some moved on West. Have information on children and copy of Johns will but not much else on him.
John Peck (abt 1800) & Nancy Peck (abt 1825) - Licking Co. Ohio

My gggrandfather was William Alva Simpson, b. 1827. His death record states that his parents were Thomas Simpson and Nancy Peck. My Simpsons came from Virginia to Ohio - mostly in Licking county (for a long time) - then they migrated to McLean county Illinois, and eventually my gggrandfather ended up in Cedar county Missouri.

All of the census info I've found on my Thomas Simpson (b. 1800) from 1850 on shows him with a wife named Mary - (I believe she is a daughter of David Carlisle). I am thinking that he may have been married to Nancy Peck and had William - she died (or they divorced - did they do that then??) and he married Mary Carlisle and had a bunch more kids.

In the 1840 census for Hanover, Licking county, OH there is a John Peck living next to Solomon Simpson (who is my Thomas' brother), and also living next to John Carlisle (who I think may be Mary Carlisle's uncle). This John Peck has 2 females in the same age group as my William would be (5-10).

Does anyone know anything about this John Peck - or Nancy Peck?

Best regards,

Kim Koberstein
In Missouri

I am looking for wife's name of Clarence Peck of Jasper and Greene County, MO. He married abt. 1903 to a woman only found by me on the 1910 census in Jasper co., MO. Her name indexed is Loda born 1887 in MO... But, the name is blurred so can be an error. I wonder if Londa, LInda, Leota?? Her kids are also blurry but similar to Day, Randil, Dow, and the descendant I am researching Wanna Leota. Possible Cherokee in this line. I have the Peck line pretty much figured out, but his wife is my "brick wall". Any help is appreciated.

Peck histories in Ives Family History Blog

Recently, I started a genealogy blog for my part of the Ives family to share the extensive family history research I did two years ago. The Ives Family History Blog, covers my father’s family going back to William Ives, co-founder of New Haven, as well as those who married into the family (e.g., Bassett, Dickerman, Yale, Turner, Atwater, Peck, Cooper, Day, Humiston, Bishop, Dunbar, Rich and others). I am also doing brief histories of where they lived and travel tips for the locations. Yestarday I started a multi-post discussion on several of my Peck ancesters from early New Haven. Ruth Peck married Jonathan Atwater in New Haven on Wednesday, June 1, 1681. Their daughter, Ruth Atwater, married Samuel Ives on Jan. 3, 1706. I welcome suggestions on how the blog can be better and nay corectiosn. You can find the first part of the discussion of the Peck family in Ives Family History Blog at http://billives.typepad.com/ives_family_history_blog/2007/04...

Seeking Peck family of Northhampton, MA. George Peck b. about 1845 possibly in England, married Elizabeth Marriott b. 1839 in Lewisham, Kent, England. They married about November 1866. George died Jan 11, 1935. This couple had at least two sons, William and Samuel. I have the Marriott side of this family and have heard of a Peck Family bible containing much info on Eliza's family that I would like to confirm.

I need anyones help that can help me, please.
My great grandfather married a Priscilla Peck, at least that is what the family said. This Peck and My great grandfather got married in I think 1902. I am assuming she lived in Michigan because they had a son together and his name was Clarence Marlin Casselman, in I think it was 2/2/1904 in I think again New Berg, Cass County, Michiagn. I was told that My great grandfather and Priscilla got a divorce. I was also told her middle name started with F.....I don't even know if Peck was her maiden name or if she was married to a Peck before marrying Clarence H. Casselman.

Peck Message Board Update

Hello All! I am working away on updating names and locations in the subject lines on the message board. If you need a little break from the holidays, scroll back through the older messages and see if any of the names ring a bell ;) Please when posting to the board, add the first and last name and location (if known), in the subject line. Please don't post a message with a subject like; lost Grandpa, Missing Uncle. Your response time is cut in half by adding this information in the subject line.
Please do not post links to "private" websites, talk to us here, one of us may be your missing link! I would also like to take this opportunity to ask those of you with personal websites be it photos, medals, ect., to stop flooding the message board with indiviual links to your site. These are being removed to make room on the message boards for the discussion of genealogy research. Should you have such a website and would like to have it added ONCE, please email me with a short description and I will gladly add this information to a new thread called Offsite Sources.
Here's wishing you all Happy Holidays from WV!
Pamela Mowrey
Peck Message Board Administrator

Alvin Peck, Hoosick, ny 1797

I am looking for any help!! My ggg-grandfather was Alvin Peck. He ran a hotel in Pittsfield/Pecktown, NY. He was born in Hoosick, NY in 1797. He married Sarah Sisson. I can't find his family. I have a elezer and a benjamin both living in Hoosick in 1800. Anyone have anything on any of these pecks? Eleazer would have been born prior to 1755 and Benjamin between 1755 and 1774. I appreciate any leads!! Deb
