Pecaric family tree

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me, as I have come to a dead end in my search.

My grandfather is Peter Nicholas Vincent Pecaric (born in the Streatham, London) and my Grandfather Vincent Pecaric who was born in Yugoslavia. I am curious to know if I have any family in the UK or Yugoslavia.

From what I have been told, The name Pecaric, which is actually pronounced Pecharich, is popular in the area of named Drasici which is a village in Slovenia. It is a small village outside a bigger city, Metlika. There are also quite a few people from Croatia with this surname.

In the cemetary outside of Drasici, Tre Fare, the name Pecaric is also popular.

Other then that this is all I really know, so if there is anyone out there that has more info, i would love to hear from you.

Kim

I hope I can help.
I am also the grandaughter of Vincent Pecaric. He was born in Trieste in 1892 and died in London after changing his surname to Palmer 19-6-1952. He is buried in Hampstead cemetry. My father was Vincent Robert Paul Pecaric. His mother was Paula Erl.
Your Aunt Y can give you more details of who I am.

I have also been trying to find out more about Nikola Pecaric and his wife Cornelia (nee Trost) Who were Vincents parents and where exactly they came from. Even though Vincent Pecaric had a Yugoslav passport I have searching through papers and Komiza features here and there.

From British Naturlisation papers dated in 1929, Vincent Pecaric detailed that he had a brother in France, one brother and two sisters in Switzerland.

I am frustrated now as I have searched eveywhere and cannot find any other links/leads to his relatives. I am now also at the brick wall. Looking to share any information!!!

Hi Jacqui,

I was hoping to be in contact with you, as I didnt actually know (nor did my mother know) that my grandfather Peter Nicholas Vincent had a half brother, who i believe is your father. So this is news to me. Yvonne, my aunty has actually given me all the information she knows, and I am almost finished putting it into my family tree program. Once I am done putting it in, I can then do more research on the Pecaric side of the tree.

I have been doing my family tree for 10 years, mostly on the Grover side ( my dads side) as the Pecaric family tree has proven to be quite difficult to research. Yvonne has given me quite a lot of names to work with which I am hoping will get me going.

Are you a full member of ancestry.com? I was a member for the last year, but just cancelled my membership about 2 month ago. I will be joining again in the next few weeks though seeming I now have a lot more information. I will be happy to share what I have once I get the search underway.

Are you in Sydney? If so can I ask where abouts? I am originally from Liverpool, but now live in the Hunter Valley.

Good to hear from you.

I am really pleased too I have made contact with you, as we were flawed when we uncovered all of this. We had absolutely no idea. Dad was so guarded about everything on the family history I just had a feeling that there was more to his father. What a web to unravel.

I think he knew about your father but I suppose all families had secrets and this was a big one!!!!

The Pecaric side of things seem to be impossible to back further and as I said I am also at a blank. I will gladly share what ever I find as you have a right too to the information. If I find any!

I was a full member of Ancestry but also cancelled my membership. I have been watching, waiting and hoping for projects in Trieste and eastern Europe to finish getting their Archives on line.

I am in Sydney, near your Aunts friend Linda. I was born in London and moved here 17 years ago after marrying an Australian. 3 boys, eldest being Nicholas Vincent. ( we had no idea when we named him). I have a sister who still lives in London. Your Aunt has my personal email details and Mobile number if you want to make contact. prefer that if possible.

Look forward to hearing from you

regards

Jacqui

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunatly I dont have much contact with my aunties as they all had a falling out years and years ago. My aunt Yvonne only just made contact with me a few weeks ago to talk about the family tree, before that I havent seen her since my grandfathers funeral about 7 years ago, and I think that was the first time i met her in person (from what I can remember). It is probably best I give you my email which is kim.grover@live.com.au - that way if you want to make contact you can. I am also on facebook under that same email adress. Have you tried searching the original spelling of Pecaric (Petcharitch)- I have and found nothing so far..

I will be coming a member in the next few weeks, so if I find out any more info then I will let you know. Talk soon.
