Peca

My grandparents on my mother's side were Joseph and Frances Peca (changed to Peco at Ellis Island). Joseph's parents were Antonio & Rosa Peca, farmers from Chieti, Abruzzi, Italy. Joseph was born around 1889. He settled with four brothers in Wilmington, Delaware.

Anyone think they may have connections?

Yes, I think there is a connection. My ggrandfather was Settimio Peca (born around 1860) in Casacanditella Chieti Italy. His father's name was Luigi. Settimio came over to the US around 1888 and lived in Philadelphia for many years until he finally moved to Rochester, NY. I know he definitely had at least one brother (possibly many more) and cousins who also came over. His brother was William Damuico Peca and they had a ladies tailor shop together in Philly. Luigi never came to the US and died around 1915. Settimio took my grandfather, Walter Joseph Peca back to Italy to visit a couple of times in the early 1900's. They also had a child that died in infancy named Frances. I would guess that your relative was a cousin to Settimio. Settimio married a German woman (My ggrandmother) named Adelaide Stegemann. I can share other names if you like.
