Seeking any information regarding the families of James E. Peacock and Alice Clifton.
Family notes list James as being from Lincolnshire, England...was born or christened on January 15, 1815. Alice Clifton was born on May 10, 1811 and was from Midville, East Fenn, Lincolnshire, England. They were married on May 14, 1840 by a Reverend Dawson at the Episcopal Church.
They migrated to the United States before 1856. They may have had a son, James. They had a son, John 'Jack' Peacock, and a daughter, Alice. One son died in the Atlantic crossing and was buried at sea. Their first two daughters were named Alice, also, and died at birth or in their infancy...their birth assumed to have been in England. The third Alice was born after the arrival in the States.
John 'Jack' Peacock married a Mary Ann Graves in Illinois in 1872. It is believed that he later married a Malinda Cleveland in 1883 in White County, Illinois.
Alice Peacock married a John Wesley Spencer in 1876. They had one child only, Chancey Cook Spencer that would marry a Minnie Pearl Hart in 1904.
Other descendants were Alice 'EMMA' Emline/Emaline/Emma Peacock that married a Wm. Kern. They had two children, Arthur and Ona. Ona Kern (female) never married. Arthur Kern married a Flora Kuykendall, and they had one son, Clarence Emil Kern that married Elizabeth Pyle Martin.
The other Peacock descendants whose families I am searching for are James Henry Peacock, Joseph Peacock, Howard Wayne Peacock, Wilma Peacock Brothers and an Unknown Female Peacock that married a ? Paul ? Sanders, a son of Clyde Sanders. Other White County families that may have been married into are Cleveland, Brewer, Aiken, Bennett, Wilson, Stanley, Proctor and Pretzsch.
Descendants through the Peacock / Spencer connection are Lamar, McKnight, Welman, Sample, Brown, Scott, Reynolds and Carpenter.
Any information on this family...their parentage, siblings, dates, migration or names of descendants would be most appreciated.
