Can anyone help with Peach Family in Victoria, Australia? Think they relate back to Dorset, England via the father, John. My email is mckayej@swtafe.vic.edu.au

I have a Norman Loftus Peach b. 1808 in Macarthur, son of Ethel May and Albert Peach. Norman was the local bus operator and drove the school bus route. Are these the Peach's you are looking for?

I have seen "my" Mary Heywood listed as Mary McManamy ... and "my" Mary Heywood married (?) John Peach of Malvern and they had 11 children. I can find no listing for their marriage, only that they claim it happened in Adelaide (cannot find it) - and I've recently come across a John Peach who was a convict in Australia, arriving aboard the "Somersetshire" in 1842 - everything fits in with him at the moment (I've only just found it, so I haven't got too much information on this John Peach yet - could be a deadend)- but, I've never been able to find out how "my" John Peach got to Australia - and the age fits, plus the "Tasmanian" John Peach was free by servitude and came to Melbourne the year their first child was born. I cannot find where "my" Mary Peach died. Do you think there's a tie, they are all the same people? You can contact me here, or email me at: rivett@alphalink.com.au. I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
Keryn.

Saw your message on Ancestry dated 2002! I am interested in finding out more about Betty Peach (nee Brown) who married Roy Peach in England. They moved to Dandenong, Victoria, but Betty died a few years ago. They had one son, Melvyn who married and had 2 sons, Benjamin and Jeremy. Any information would be great.

Kim,
I'm the ggg grandson of John Robert PEACH(abt 1824-11/5/1899) & Bridget Loftus(abt 1828-1908). In just about every generation since at least one child bares the middle name of "Loftus", like your Norman. My gg grandfather was Thomas Peach who on 16/12/1903 married Matilda Christina SHAW at Hamilton,Vic. The witneeses were Albert Peach & Ethel Jane Wright (It might be Swift, it's hard to read. I think this could be you Albert.
I don't have an Albert,as yet, in my Peach tree but I suspect he could be the son of JR" & Bridget's 1st born John (1853-1893 who married a Jessie Johnson in 1877.
Can you help with this?

Yep ... her actual name was Mary McNamara (I have seen it spelt the way you did) - she was with John Peach - I don't think they married, Mary was married to Richard Heywood in South Australia, she was very young - she had two children to him and then John and Mary came to Victoria with the two children, they had a further ten children together. They said they were married in S.A., but I haven't found the marriage. Richard didn't die, so I think they just ran off together - well, that's what I'm thinking at the moment.
