Surnames: Wheeler, Province
Hi Judy, Hiram Peace married Mary E Wilson in 1828. They had Blackburn b. 1830 and William b 1831. Both where born in Sabine Parish LA. They moved to Shelby Co. TX and Hiram died when the boys were very young. She moved back to Sabine Parish LA . Mary married a William Province, date unknown. There are 5 children but I do not know if they are all her children, but she did take care of them because Mr.Province was killed sometime after 1842 and before 1850. I found Mary in 1850 in the Sabine Parish, LA census. Blackburn was 21 and listed as head of houshold, then Mary 39 , William 20, Sarah 19, Lydia 18, Thomas 16, Mary Ann 10, Phillip 8. All the children where listed under the Province name. Even Blackburn and William were listed as Province children. Blackburn moved to TX and married Modenia Wheeler and lived and died in 1898 in TX. William married Ellen Wheeler they lived in LA with his mother. They both died in LA. I have been researching this family for about 30-35 years. Which one of the Blackburn children do you belong to? I would like to add you to the tree. Sybil
