I just got out my information after a 10 year hiatus. My ggg grandmother was Nancy Pea (1816 - 1901) a jailer in Rush County. She had a son - Ellsbury Perkins (so I'm sure we are related) . I have a letter from Mildred Thomas dated 3-27-94 with a paragraph on the Peas in Rush County - saying "Charley Pea's parents were Ellsbury and Susie Wilson Pea." Do you have any information on Nancy Pea's parents George & Elizabeth Pea?

Diane, I have Nancy Pea's parents as: George Pea (b. 5 October 1776/77 In South Carolina, d. 2 August 1832 in Rushville, IN) & Elizabeth O'Neile (spelling could be Neal or Nealle). She was born 23 December 1783 in North Carolina, She died 19 April 1867 in Rushville, IN. She is buried at Laughlin Cemetery in Rushville. George & Elizabeth were married about 1805, place of marriage unknown. I do not have any information at this time as to whom George or Elizabeth's parents were. Hope this helps. Nice to meet you Cuz. Thanks for the information, Ruth. How are you related to George and Elizabeth? I have information that Nancy Pea (their daughter) was born in Pea Hollow in Davidson County TN and I feel like there should be information there.
I'm new to this message board and don't quite know how to work it. What is the difference between the "Post message" above the message and the one under it?
Thanks again. Diane

Diane, going thru the message boards and ran across your msg. I am also related to George and Elizabeth Pea. Are you the one who has info on Elizabeth's mother (Sarah Petty) aka Morning Star being a Cherokee Indian? I grew up hearing this story from different relatives. Elizabeth's middle name was Emsley. George's parents were Austin Peay(Pea) and Mildred Turner. We need to compare notes. Please email. Thank you Carol
