terry alan
maybe you would help me the pea family. I have a daniel elisha pea, married mary emmaline mitchell. Born about 1850 /1860.
I have lots of pictures with the names bethany and sullivan illinois on the frames. one picture has daniel and marys children when they were very young. I have a picture of Daniel in the greeley kansas post office. he was a teacher and post master when the republicans were in office. the picture was taken about 1900. I heard the pea"s could be burried in the sutton valley cememtery because they were related. Sutton valley is in greeley kansas Anderson county. what I don't know is who their parents were, or where they were born or married. Does any of this sound familiar. hope to hear from someone. let me know if I can help

I'm sorry, but I don't have info on your Daniel Elisha Pea,
that married Mary Mitchell. I have three Daniels, though, as follows;

born in 1768 and married Elizabeth Selby,
born in 1795 and married Elizabeth Lett, and
born in 1858 and married Mary Jane Morrow.

Also, one Elizabeth Pea (1762) married Joseph Mitchell.

One person you might check with is Linda Mullins, at

Please let me know if/when you find a connection.

Sylvester Pea born 1823 Indiana, died 1896 Greeley, KS, buried there. One son was Daniel E. Pea. The family was listed in 1991 Family Stories of Anderson Co, KS; Garnett, KS. First wife Mercy Macklin; second Francis Jackson. He is probably of the William H. Pea family out of Sullivan, Moultrie, ILL. Sylvester's son William M. Pea married Anna Bell (my line)in 17 Sep 1882 in Anderson Co, KS there.

Hi Cousin! We definitely are in the same family tree, and there are a number of us who have been looking for the name of John Sr. father and mother. Many believe his name would be William, but that is as far as we have gotten. Have lots of info. on the families of John Sr. and John Jr., etc. Most of which you may have, but would be happy to share anything I have - pictures too.

Are you on the Steele's mailing list. We are having our family reunion July 21 and 22 2001 in Neola Iowa. Please send your address so information can be mailed to you. Hoping to hear again from you soon, Pat Marshall, Loveland, Colorado

There was an early John or Jacob Pea of 1820 Knox Co, IN which I hope to connect. My William Pea went to Anderson Co, KS after 1860 married Anna Bell.
