I'm looking for information on my paternal grandmother's family. Her name was Gertrude Pazer (but called Fannie by everyone) married to Thomas Katz - both NYC. She had a number of siblings but the only ones I remember are Abraham and Charles. There was a woman named Annabelle, I believe a wife of one of her brothers. Her parents were Samuel Pazer, born in Poland, died in NYC married to Bessie Charney, same. Approximate year of birth of Gertrude and siblings would be around end of 20th century.

Hi David - I think I hit the send key by mistake on the other Email. Anyway, in case it just deleted, I will start all over again.

It's wonderful to hear from you. I've been hitting dead ends in all the searching I've been doing on all sides of my family. We are second cousins. I have a sister, Beth. We both live in California. Our mother is here too, but our father died last year.

This is what I know of the Pazer family. Perhaps you can fill in some of the holes.

Samuel Pazer (born Poland, died NYC) married Bessie Charney (born Poland, died NYC). Samuel had two sisters born in Poland and died in England. That's all I know of Samuel's family. Bessie had two siblings, names unknown. One had a daughter Mildred. The other had two daughters, Boshka and Ida. Boshka, Ida, and Mildred would have been in our parents' generation.

Fanny (Gertrude), Abraham, Charles, Jack, Joseph and an unknown daughter were the children of Samuel and Bessie. I've been told that the unknown daughter was born and died in England - I'm not sure this makes sense. Maybe she was born while they were on their way here and then returned as an adult.

This is what I know of Samuel's and Bessie's children:

Fanny married Thomas Katz, my grandparents. Their children were Paul (my father) and Murray. Paul married Joan and had Robin (me) and Beth. I have no children. My sister has a 7 year old daughter, Elektra. Murray marrie Mimi. They had two sons, Thomas and Bruce. Thomas married Michelle and they have a son, Jeffrey (who may even have children of his own by now). As far as I know, Bruce never married. I think they are all in Florida.

Abraham, as you know, married Pauline. Their children are Annabelle and Perry. I don't know who Annabelle married or if she has children. I don't know your mother's name or if you and Johnathan have children.

Charles never married.

Jack married, but I don't know whom. Their children are Howard and Paul. I don't know about their spouses or children.

Joseph had a son, Edward. And, that's all I know about him.

Then there's the unknown daughter.

That's all I know about the Pazer family.

How long have you lived in CT? We used to live there but I moved to California in 1974, my sister followed a few years later and then my parents. I am divorced with no children and I live in the Mojave Desert now. If you wish to email me directly you can reach me at MojaveByrd@AOL.com. I'm sure your father and Annabelle would remember us if you mentioned my dad, Paul Katz. When we all still lived in NY I remember visiting your parents more than once but I was very young and that's all I remember. I think your parents lived in a Quonset (spelling?) hut right after the war and I remember visiting it. If it wasn't your parents then it was Howard.

Anyway, it's wonderful to "meet" you and I hope we can keep in touch.
