Jennie Grabinski Pazdziesz
Jennie Grabinski Pazdziesz Loving Mother and Grandmother Jennie Grabinski Pazdziesz, 92, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born December 25, 1915 in Erie, daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys (Zbitkowski) Grabinski. She worked for GE and retired in 1956. She was a member of St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She was a member of two Senior Centers: Erie Center on Health &Aging and GECAC Erie West, actively attending both on weekdays. She enjoyed traveling, Bingo, baking, reading and also taking bus trips to the casino. Everyone loved Jennie, her generosity, laughter and giving spirit. She will sadly be missed by all that had the good fortune of knowing her. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, Walter Szewczyk, William Duskus and Frank Pazdziesz to whom she was married to for 38 years. Two sons, Leonard Szewczyk and Robert Pazdziesz; one stepdaughter, Mary Ann Pazdziesz Nemergut; four brothers, Louis, Raymond, Theodore and Walter Grabinski; two sisters, Sophie Orlowski and Stella Kelly; one step son-in-law, Stephen Nemergut, one stepdaughter-in-law, Kay Pazdziesz. Survivors include a stepson, Victor Pazdziesz, of Arizona; a brother, Leonard Grabinski, and his wife, Shirley, of Erie; two sisters, Mary Duskus of Erie, and Dorothy Fuller of Florida; one daughter-in-law, Mary Anne Szewczyk, of Girard. Also survived by eight grandchildren, Rose Szewczyk of Waterford, Doris Szewczyk of Meadville, Carolyn Nies of Florida, Leonard Thomas Szewczyk of Girard, Tim Berry of Cranesville, Heidi Vandervort of Calif., and Diane Yezzi and Janet Nemergut of Erie; seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 E. 12th St., Erie, PA 16503, Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Hedwig Catholic Church of The Erie City Mission.
