Paylor (Taylor), Samuel, Pvt Co B; drafed Jan 3, 1864; discharged Jun 29, 1865; born 1834; died Mar 21, 1911; from Thompson, Fulton County; 5' 10", dark hair, blue eyes; wounded in the lumbar region at the battle of Cedar Creek and deserted from the hospital in Philadelphia November 23, 1864, arrested January 19, 1865, and returned to duty in March without a trial but bearing the cost of arrest; was he 27 or 37 at enlistment? - both reported
