Good afternoon,

I have information on all these Pays:

— Wlliam and his wife, Alice (née Baigent);
— William Victor, his son, and William Victor's wife, Mildred Charlotte (née Bignell);

The children of William Victor and his wife, Mildred Charlotte:

... Robert William
... Percival George

... Georgina Lillian
... George James
... Frederick James
... Reginald Harry

I have located the final resting place of William and his wife, Alice, plus three other family members.

Tomorrow (Sun., June 30, 2013), I am going to photograph their gravestones — flatstones or monuments — at the Hawthorndale Cemetery, in East-End Montreal.

If anyone would like to contact me, I would be more than pleased to hear from you.

Any links to a William (Wllm) Arthur (A). Pay who was in South Africa (<1998 & during the 2nd Boer War.
He was either a brother (Arthur Ernest?) from Percival George Patching,Worthing, Roggate Sussex or an descendent from SA travellers, Kent Seaman OR good old Londoners (with siblings Alfred, Florence & Ada) who partly settled in Maine, USA around 1886.
Lived in SA, UK, USA, Brazil, NL- & British Guyana (1904-1907) and obviously settled in Surinam around 1910 & helped starting-up the bauxite industry.

There seems to be a match here, Robin, with three of the names and places in England in your posting: William, Arthur Ernest, and Percival George.

I can send you five and half pages of the write-up I have on the Pay family.

Would you mind sending me an e-mail, please, to ...

Thank you, and have a good day,

Arthur Ernest Blaber is probably the father of Cpt. Arthur Pay/Blaber. There are simmilarities in the Sussex-John T-Arthur Ernest Pay line & another one of Ada C (Emily) Pay/Maling/Blaber with her children: Arthur Pay, Alfred Pay, Florence and Ada, In the Lloyd's Weekly from August 1900, "Arthur Pay calls for his long lost mother, Mrs Maling, his sisters Ada and Florence & his brother Arthur Pay, a mining engineer who has in been in South Africa 20 years" (either Arthur was 20 years old, or lived in SA for 20 years. I suspect the latter.
Any recognision, anyone?
Thanx.
