Hi Boyd.
Sorry my info relates only to PAXTONs recorded in Scotland.
The Paxton name is said to have originated in Britain from those living in the town of Pacs which was a town near the border of Scotland and England. As a result Paxtons were also prevalent in England. Hence it is possible that the ancestors of those you are seeking could have been migrants from either Scotland or England.

You might find the book The Paxtons: We Are One! by W.M Paxton, of Platte City, MO. I blieved I am connected to one of these three sons. I would be your connected there too!. I just can't find mine.

Good Luck

Boyd

Hello my name is Pamela, I would like to know i you have any information on any Paxtons born in Inveresk or Musselburgh, Scotland please.
My Fourth Great Grandfather was James Paxton all I know about him is that in February 1817 he married Margaret Currie.
They had One son my 3rd Great Grandfather James Ferdinand Douglas Paxton born in December 1830?
And they had three daughters I think?
James Paxton senior I would think was born between 1793 and 1800, but do not know where in Scotland, I would like to know if you have any Information concerning any Paxtons born in the Musselburgh area please.
Thank you in advance for any information I might receive.
