I am looking for information on these families:
In 1860, James and Ella [Inglis] were living with her parents in Paterson. Per the
census:
Sam B. Fields 50 music teacher b. New Hampshire
Maria 41 b. Mass.
Carrie 24 milliner b. Mass.
Ella Inglis 21 b. Mass.
James Inglis 25 music store b. NJ
Geo. W. Fields 18 D__.artist b. Mass. [can't decipher Dag. Dwy. Dwg.??]
Ida 9 b. NJ
This suggests that James Inglis, Jr. listed in the 1858 City directory as
Inglis and Fields, Books and Stationery, was in business with his
father-in-law and or brother-in-law. [Field & Inglis] books Y stationary 117 Marin (House) 43 Main
I have a residential address as of 1890 of 199 Carroll, Paterson NJ.
In 1870, they are still in Paterson, living in their own home with two
live-in domestic servants. Per the census:
Inglis, James 35 music teacher
Ella keeping house
Andrew 9
Roy 4
Mortimer 2
Walter 3mos. [can't be sure this is Walter, could be Natter, I'm
guessing Walter]
McCabe, Bridget 50 Domestic b. Ireland
Cooley, Maria 45 Domestic b. England
Does anyone have more information on this family? I am looking to connect my Inglis line to other Inglis'.
