Mike Sperro Patakas, 65 a retired rancher, died last night in his home at 30 East Conejo Avenue in Caruthers following a long illness.
He was born in Greece and lived in Caruthers for 12 years. Patakas operated a produce market in Los Angeles from 1928 to 1948. He served in the Greek army during World War I.
Survivors include his widow Mrs. Mary Patakas; two daughters, Doreen Klesite, Livingston, Merced County, and Rita, Caruthers; three sons, Sperro, Elsinore, Riverside County; Basilie, Illinois, and John Caruthers; a sister, Mrs. David Diamos, Arizona, and one grandchild.
The Rev. Thornton Weymouth of the First Baptist Church in Caruthers will officiate at the funeral services Saturday at 10 AM in the Tinkler Mission Chapel. Burial will be in the Washington Colony Cemetery.
