My maiden name is Pasbach. My fathers name is Lawrence, my grandfathers name was Albert William. Pasbach is such a rare name, I wonder if this Frank is somehow related to us. I know of one other Pasbach who is a cousin of my father who lives in Chicago somewhere. His name is Charles.pls send any info. thanks, DThorn

I'm researching my brother-in-law's Pasbach (Passbach) family in SW Mississippi. The Pasbachs appear sometime between 1840 and 1860 in Adams Co. MS. One of them, John Frederick Pasbach, is listed in the 1860 census as having been born in Nassau. His apparent father or uncle C. Passbach and his apparent mother or aunt, Margaret Pasbach, list Hesse-Darmstadt as their birthplace. I did find an immigration record for one of the apparent relatives (brother?) Ferdinand, who was 5 years older and after whom he named one of his children. He arrived in November 1848 in New Orleans and the ship had originated in Bremen. Nassau was incorporated into Hesse Darmstadt around 1866, and was located adjacent to it. Therefore, it seems possible that my brother-in-law's Pasbach's are somehow related to your Pasbach's, althought they may have had different ports of entry.

I did notice your Pasbach/Passbach family while doing research. I couldn't help but wonder if they were related. I haven't found any additional information recently, but will certainly be interested in any information that anyone might have.

Ruthie, my grandmother was a Pasbach (Ora Isabel) from Providence. She married Warren Austin and moved to CT. I have also been trying to find the origins of the Pasbachs in Germany. I believe that Franz's father was Michael.

I have also started looking for Christina's origins although with a surname of Meier one has the opposite problem (compared to a unique name like Pasbach).

I think we are searching for the same family.
