My mother told me of an Aunt who emmigrated to the state's
1911-1912 Brn Willenhall South Staff's UK.
Worked in service at nearby Bently, nearly ended up on the Titanic but no berth so caught the next boat available.
She went to work for the owner of the Arrow Shirt & Collar
Co which was at Troy up state NY on the Hudson, the owners household was on 1st Avenue which is now a museum [on the net] the family also had another home in Chicago the head of the family died in California.
This female relative used to write to my father during the 20s or 30s back in Willenhall Staffs UK, the galling thing is I was never told her name so I know I'm clutching at straws but as I was born in 1939 time isnt on my side so I put my faith in friends on the Net.
