Great to hear from you, Ann. I have no living relatives on the
Parry side of my immediate family here and thought it would be a huge task to find any information at all (I've only been researching for a couple of weeks)but how wrong I was! The first census that shows my grandfather was for 1901 when he was 3 years old. It shows a sister (Sarah) who was 6, Dan who was 8,
Rhoda who was 15, William (16), Thomas (19), John (21) and their parents Thomas and Sarah. I've managed to go back to the 1841 census and found Thomas and
Rhoda (
Wynn)
Parry and their children William and Mary. From what I understand, Thomas,
Rhoda and Mary went to
America around 1847 leaving William at home on the family farm in Blaina. Do these details agree with what you have? I remember the excitement I felt as a young child when my great-uncle Dan came to visit, and how I was mesmerised by an accent I had only heard on visits to the cinema. It was such a magical time.
Please keep in touch,
Meryl
