Pettigrew and Parrish families in Granville, Orange and Guilford Counties in NC mid to late 1700/1800s

Classification: Query
Surnames: Pettigrew/Pettigru/, Parrish/Parish, Hutson/Hudson, Jarrett/Jarrot, Brown
My ancestor, Susan Parrish(Parish), was the daughter of Annie Pettigrew and Willis Parrish (b. 1810, d. 1880). Susan was born in December 1830. The enigma is that they are listed as her parents on her death certificate in 1923. However, the only marriage certificate for a Willis and Annie in 1830 is for an Anne OMERY. The bondsman was an Eli HUTSON. The only other siblings I can find for Susan are Jonathan (who seems to have died prior to the 1850 census) and a brother, Willis G., who was a civil war casualty. Susan herself was a Civil War widow after her husband, Henry Brown, died in 1864 leaving her with three young children.

Now, Susan Parrish Brown is living near James Pettigrew in the 1850 census in Guilford County prior to her marriage. The ages of this James line up with a James Pettigrew that married an Elizabeth JARRETT around 1798 (I think). My *assumption* is that James is Annie Pettigrew's father and therefore Susan's grandfather. I also think there is a connection with a SURA Pettigrew that married a SION Parrish because the name Sion is carried down amongst Willis' children (it's an unusal name).

Now, we all know that these bonds and certificates and strewn with errors. My problem is that I'm fairly certain Annie Pettigrew died and Willis remarried Ann(a) HUTSON/Hudson (there is a marriage certificate for them in Guilford Co. in 1842). They went on to have quite a few children. I find it strange that the original bondsman for Willis' first marriage was a Hutson/Hudson...

There are so many strange coincidences involving these two families I can't go into them here. My problem is that I can't find Ann(ie) Pettigrew anywhere. There are so many Pettigrew/Pettigru/Petigrew, etcs. in the Granville and Orange County areas of North Carolina along with Parrish/Parish families, i.e. David, Ansel/Anselm/Ancil, Sion.

Does anyone know who these people are???
