I am working on our family history, we are the Jordans of Wake/Johnston county. We are stuck at MATTHEW. Our CORNELIUS JORDAN was brother to MARGARET JORDAN who married PINKNEY PARRISH, son of Justice/Justus Parrish. Cornelius married TABITHA (Bitha) PARRISH, PINKNEY's little sister.
I want to make contact with Justice/Justus Parrish of Wake/Johnston immediate family's descendants and most especially Pinkney and Margaret's descendants.
Pinkney was appointed administrator for Margaret's dad's estate, his name was Joseph A. Jordan. Margaret's mom, Rebecca had died before her dad. What was her maiden name? It is my hope Margaret was given her family's bible when her parents died. She was the last living sibling. I am hoping the bible will tell us the names of the two older boy and girl who died before 1850 (and any other).
I also hope Margaret's people know where Rebecca and Joseph are buried. A casket was bought from Brown Funeral Home in Raleigh when Joseph died in 1873. Where did it go?
I am hoping our Parrish kin can help me locate graves, bibles, id someone in an old photo I have, and maybe have photos and stories to share.
We are using DNA to help us solve our Jordans and have confirmed our link to several Parrishes! When our direct ancestor Cornelius died at Wilmington he left three tiny boys. Those boys' descendants need some help.
We will share any and all we have or further discoveries regarding Margaret and her line.
