This is my first time at this site. My daughter has most of our records. Matthew Parris was my great-grandfather, and he died as a very old man in Philadelphia (I think) in the late 1920s. His father, Matthew, is buried very prominently in the old cemetery east of Harrington, DE. The annual Parris picnic-reunion will be held in 2002 in the Harrington area on Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend, by tradition--going back about 70 years. My great-grandfather married a Whiting, from the Centerville, MD area, and they had about a dozen children. The youngest, Lawrence Roy, was my grandfather.
