Hi All,
I am looking for info on my Paolantonio Ancestors. I am descended from Dominico Paolantonio (son of Carmine PAOLANTONIO and Valeriana CATAURA). Dominico was born 18 Feb 1805 in Agnone, Molise, Italy. He married Lucia Amata RUBERTO (daughter of Egidio RUBERTO and Arcangela ZAMPINO). Dominico and Lucia had a daughter Maria Cristina PAOLANTONIO who married Amabile MINICHIELLO (son of Angelo MINICHIELLO and Palmeria RUSSO). Does anyone have info on this family?
Thanks! GEM

Re: Paolantonio Ancestors
Hi I just found this site and thought I had died and gone to heaven!!! My great grandmother Francesca Paolantonio is a daughter of Domenico Paolantonio and Lucia Ruberto. My grandfather mentioned that they had 16 children. I have only found 8 of them. I have the marriage bann for Maria Cristina. I am trying to find her birth cirtificate now. The children that I have are Michele, Annamaria, Filomena Valeriana, Carmina, Maria Cristina, Giambattisto, Francesca, and Alfonso. All of these records are from Frosolone. I have been having a difficult time reading these records. Thank-you for the spellings!

Re: Paolantonio Ancestors
Hello, I recently received a copy of my grandfather's Certificate of Baptism and his Godparents names are Michele and Lucia Paolantonio. It is dated 1893 and my grandfather's name is Giovanni Battista Di Nuocio. I am searching for more information on the Di Nuocio and Paolantonio families and am wondering if anyone knows of Michele & Lucia. Thank you. Gail Welch

Re: Paolantonio Ancestors
Gail,
I have a Michele Paolantonio ( parents are Domenico (Dominic) Paolantonio b. 1805 d.1890 and Lucia Amata Ruberto Paolantonio b. 1812 d. bef. 1875)in my family tree. Does this sound like a match with the Paolantonio's you are looking for?

Re: Paolantonio Ancestors
I don't think your Michele Paolantonio, who passed away in 1890, and mine are the same because the date on my grandfather's Baptism Certificate is 1893 with Michele and Lucia Paolantonio listed as his Godparents. However, they might be related. Are any of your ancestors from Little Italy in New York? Thank you for responding. Gail Welch

Re: Paolantonio Ancestors
Hi, Patti, I see that your ancestors are from Frosolone, Italy. My grandfather's last name was Di Nuocio but when I looked at the Ellis Island site the name is Di Nuoscio and they were from Frosolone! So, maybe my grandfather, Giovanni Battista Di Nuocio's Godparents, Michele and Lucia Paolantonio are also from Frosolone. My grandfather's mother was Maria Di Simone, but I don't know where in Southern Italy she was from. Did your family go to live in Little Italy, New York City?

Re: Paolantonio Ancestors
Hi Gail, I was going to ask you if you had a different spelling for Nuocio. When I saw your message I looked the name up in a Frosolone index that I copied from the LDS Family History Center. I found a few names spelled with the "S" (Nuoscio) but none spelled without the "S". Unfortunatly, My Michele is the same family as G. Moss's Michele. If you are interested, the birth record film number to order is 1448483. It covers births from 1866-1895. PS. I also saw a few DeSimones.

Re: Paolantonio Ancestors
Hi, Patti, Thank you for the film order number for Frosolone births. We have an LDS Family History Center here, so I will go search for information there. I believe our name was probably originally Di Nuoscio rather than Di Nuocio. I am wondering if you have Filippo Di Nuoscio and Maria Di Simone on your birth record list. They are my g-grandparents and were probably born in the 1870's. Thank you for any information you might have. Gail Welch
