Oh, from Find a Grave, I just found the following:
"The History Of Woodland, Michigan 1837-1987": PALMERTON.
There were three pioneer Palmertons: Charles, born Oct. 28, 1811; Jerome, born Sept. 10, 1814; and their little brother Andrew Jackson, born Jan. 10, 1827.
The two oldest Palmertons located land soon after the Haights and Charles Galloway did, Charles on section 20 and Jerome on section 17. They then went back to New York State and, according to B.S. Holly, did not return to live in Woodland permanently until 1844.
The 1879 history of Woodland, however, states that they settled permanently in 1839, an account considerably strengthened by the evidence of Jerome's marriage in Woodland to Roxy Burns in 1841.
Jackson Palmerton came out in 1845, and settled in the northeast quarter of section 20 beside Charles.
The brothers had a sister, Delilah, who was married to another pioneer, John McArthur....
Jerome Palmerton married Roxy Burns in Woodland on Nov. 15, 1841. She was only fourteen years old at the time. They had six children, three of which survived infancy: Huldah, John and Americus Vesputius.
Huldah, born in 1843, married Edward Maples, who was killed in a logging accident on Feb. 22, 1876, when he was only thirty. They had only one child, Izella, born in Mar., 1874, who died on Sept. 14th at the age of six month. Huldah did not long outlive her family, for she died of consumption on Nov. 19, 1884.
Her brother John was born on Oct. 2, 1850, and died a bachelor on Mar. 26, 1925; in his day, he was considered one of the best threshers in Woodland.
Americus Vesputius Palmerton was born on Oct. 10, 1853, and was married twice, first to Ella Amelia Wickham, who died of consumption on July 18, 1880. In 1883 he married Louisa Schray. He died on June 10, 1934, and his second wife on June 29, 1931. Americus and Ella had two children, a boy who was stillborn on Jan. 13, 1876, and Roy, born in 1880. Roy married Nettie H. Crites on Oct. 11, 1896. She died in 1948 and he followed her the next year. They had three children, Laura, born in Feb., 1897, Ella, born on Apr. 26, 1899, and Victor C., born on Oct. 31, 1905. Americus and Louisa Palmerton had a daughter, Dossie, born in 1867, who married Roy Ballentine...."
That answers part of my question, but who were the parents of Sylvanus Palmerton, and who were the parents of Thomas Palmerton who married Jane Chambers more importantly?
Thanks,
