Hello, My name is John Pall. I am doing family research on the "Pal" surname. I have Christening records that trace my family back to the village of Detk, in Heves County, Hungary. I am able to trace my family, the Pal name back to 1877. My great-great grandfather, Janos Pal married Juliana Erki in 1877. My great-grandfather, Louis Pal changed our family name from "Pal" to "Pall" when he immigrated to the US in 1908.

One search link I have found very useful is:

http://www.familysearch.org

This is the LDS Family Database.

Any information regarding the "Pal" family name would be appreciated. I will gladly share any information I have on this name.

Regards,
John

Hi Larry Pal. I see from your number you are from Ohio. My grandfather Julius Pal, was born in Zemplen Megve, Damocs, Hungary, which may be near Buda-Pest. He had 6 sons, 5 are living and over 80 years old and live in Ohio. Like to hear from you. Know where in Hungary your family is from? I would like to know if Grandfather left behind any brothers, or perhaps who was his father.

My Grandfather was Sandor (Alec) Pal (b. 1897). His father was Lazlo and mother was Julianna Orha. I have a rewritten birth certificate from Hungary in Hungarian but I think it reads Kallosemjen, which is in the northern plains of Hungary.
I don't know when he came to America but he settled in Bridgeport Ct area. My grandmother's name was Mary. We have relatives from Trenton New Jersey with the last name of Pall (there was a Julie who I always thought was my grandfathers sister but not sure) and I remember going to Adams Mass. to visit and "Uncle" Frank - don't know who this was. I always had the impression that my grandfather came from a large family but they were mostly still in Europe. Toth is another family name but I don't know the connection and anyone who could tell me is gone.
