Surnames: PAL, SEBOTH, SEBOKH, SEBOK
I am researching Magdalena Pal in Hungary. DOB abt 1865.
May have lived in St. Miklas / Scesigot / or combination of the two words.
Father and mother are unknown.
Possible 1st or 2nd husband - name Frank Seboth / Sebokh / Sebok
Daughter Catherine, at one time lived in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia (Croatia) in 1980. Husband unknown.
Catherine had at least 1 brother or step-brother named Frank and additional brothers, names unknown.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

How you know that daughter Catherine at one time lived in Dubrovnik?

Rosie BINDER was born in Raks even though on the naturalization record it is Roks
Raks , Vas megye, Hungary now Austria

Bindel, Anton Raks 26 1875 1901
Binder, Josef Raks 31 1872 1903
Binder, Karl Raks, Hungary 27 1884 1911
Rax populated place
46°56' N 16°10' E

E M U G

Austria
88.0 miles S of Wien 48°12' N 16°22' E
map of Vas megye:
http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910/vas.jpg
http://www.bogardi.com/gen/g163.shtml
left margin inward with river Raba to RAKS.

As you can see Vas and Zala megye's borders each other.

Looked on the marriage record of Frank and Rosie and saw her mother's maiden name as Dashner which in German would be different spelling. Found someone by that surname arriving NY EI from location Raks:
Daschner, Mihal Raks 17 1886 1903

Yes, the naturalization documents indicate the following spellings of Frank's hometown:
Certificate of Naturalization - Austria Hungary 24 NOV 1924
Declaration of Intent - Scecesgat, Hungary 09 APR 1920
Petition for Naturalization - Scecisgat, Hungary Austria 08 AUG 1924

All of his children were born in Wisconsin and all were Catholic.
There are no references to Frank's place of birth in the church baptismal records.
Marriage record indicates place of birth as Austria
The church marriage record book lists Frank as "Franciscus Seboth" of Milwaukee Wisconsin, son of Franciscus and Cath. Seboth, no home listing for parents.
After Franks death his wife applied for citizenship and listed Franks place of birth as Scecisgot Hungary on her documents.

Thank you Loretta.
Trying to get you to the right place and so was hoping the children's church baptismal
record would have parents place of birth. Disappointment, bummer.
Take a listen http://ivona.com with English voice the location that you have on the record
and the correct Magyar spelling. What you hear. English is my second language so I'm not
a good judge.
If only, if only, the office clerk spelled the location correctly. I cannot understand why
we cannot find Frank's arrival manifest. Maybe he came under someone else's name.
Hopefully the posters on Hungary's board will break the misspelling of the location.
