Surnames: Bundas, Adam
Justina Bundas immigrated to US from Salanky Czech, 1923. Two sons Josef (Joseph) and Rudolf (Rudolph). Rudolph was blind in one eye. Justina went to join her sister Else Adam at in Clevland Ohio. Justina was my grandfather's (Josef Tolcvay)great aunt? and is the first link between American and Australian relations. Looking for any info on Rudolph Bundas, possibly lives now in Washington as Justina died there.

Hi Cheryl
This is years late! My mum came across your reply while visiting me in NJ and we went out to ellis island to research Justina Bundas. I'm Australian but living in NJ now. What state are you? I'm interested in whatever info your father has or living relatives and whereabouts. You're all distantly related to Australian relatives which I'm sure would be of interest. Regards, Catherine.

Hi Don, sorry this is years late. We only came across these replies recently. Yes the painting is by Rudolph Bundas, he emigrated with his mother Justina to the U.S from Hungary as a boy. He became quite an established artist and died aged 93 in 2003 in Washington. His mother Justina was my grandfather's aunt. My grandfather emigrated to Australia where i am from but i now am living in New jersey. Regards, Catherine Wilson.

Hi KD
Justina Bundas was my grandfather's aunt who immigrated to the U.S in the 50's from Hungary with her two sons one being Rudolph. Elsie was her sister who had immigrated earlier. There is a great article i found about Rudolph that gave us all more insight than ever before.

Also a lady contacted me via this site called Cheryl Adam Zarin 410-796-1453. Her great aunt was Eleanor whose mother was Elsie Adam. I haven't been successful yet contacting her as I only saw the message a few years after it was posted! My uncle in Australia is very good for information on the family too but even he is a bit sketchy when it comes to the Bundas line as he was only a child when he immigrated. My grandfather ended up immigrating to Australia as the U.S was not accepting immigrants anymore at that time so our line is Aussie! I'm living in NJ for now just because my husband is working in NY. So its a good chance to research and Ellis island had some interesting documents on the Bundas voyage over.
