Does anyone know where 'Rubed, France' is?
Don' try 'Google' for a search, too many adult sites pop up with 'rubed' and 'France' in them.
Also, no village/town/city by that name in familysearch.org either.
Did they have another typo doing a Biographical Index again?

Re: Peter and Lena (Wemerd) Pahl
Why search that far back? History, I guess. Almost everybody knows more about George Washington and Peter the Great than their own ancesters. It's neat to learn about how the common people lived too. My Pahls lived for 10 generations (and more) in the small town of Kulsheim, Germany. Peter Pahl was forced into the Prussian army. Helena Pahl had the first child before marriage. (Oh, my). The 4th cousins married. (With Church dispensation). We have Lorentz Pahl's signature from 1640. All interesting to me. Beats golf, for a hobby, I think.

Re: Peter and Lena (Wemerd) Pahl
While we're at it, we might make sure we clear up some Pahl questions. Peter Pahl's wife was Lena Pahl (not Wemerd). They were 4th cousins. Lena Weimer was Peter Pahl's mother. Kulsheim (not "Pitsheim") is in the far NE corner of Baden. Peter and Lena's son Joseph was born in Rouen, France, as the family was on their way to the port of LeHavre to sail to America. (Joan of Arc was born in Rouen, too). All of the Church records from Kulsheim are on disc. I have a copy. Peter settled in Huron Co, Ohio.

Re: Peter and Lena (Wemerd) Pahl
i think it beats caring for animals and i love them so much. care notHING for sports so photos and how men and women pushed on for the good of self and family amuses me. love knowing the courage to keep trying kind of like t. edison. so to learn how this (USA) was founded and abusing; people survived can i? yes! God sets up and tears down kingdoms. would love to know of my pahl family if they came from your line? i start with ludwig wilhelm pahl in mid 1800's

Re: Peter and Lena (Wemerd) Pahl
The Kulsheim Pahls came in two waves. In 1834, my line came to the U.S. and settled in Ohio. In the 1850's a second group came and settled in Wisconsin. (The Ohio land had become too expensive, so the immigrants moved further west to settle). Both Pahl groups were related. Your Pahls would have been from the Wisconsin bunch if they came from Kulshein,
