I found that my great-grandfather was George Pafka Sr, married to Katie Pafka, with 2 boys (George Jr and John)
and that great-grandfather Pafka was from Austria and his wife was from Germany. Anyone with a relative from Germany named Katie who is a Pafka by marrage?

Darlene,

My Greatgrandfather was George Sr. . As far as I can tell, he and his wife settled in NY City and had two sons (George Jr.
and John). The sons settled in central NY and had children
of their own. My father (Lloyd Pafka) was one of three by
George Jr.(Stanley and Ruth were the other two). John had several sons and owned a farm in Clockville NY. Some of his
sons are still kickin' and live in Syracuse NY. I never met my
grandfather (George) as he left his wife (Alice-my grandmother) for someone else. Dad never spoke about him
(didn't sit well with him getting left to help raise his family at
12). there were numerous hits on the internet for distant
relatives (if it was a Pafka, the odds are strong that there are genetic ties). I was looking to see who was out there in the world but little has come back. If you wish to touch base,
E me at mpafka@rochester.rr.com .
