My ggfather was Adam Paff. He married Gertrude Fleckenstein in Johnstown, Cambria COunty in 1847. He had 6 or 7 siblings. My gfather, Peter was one of them. I'd like to find Adam's place of birth and his parent's names.

I am looking for Australian Paffs that connect to the Bearder family in Worksop Nottinghamshire. Audrey Bearder m. Maurice Paff in 1946 and moved to Australia. I am researching the Ellis family of Worksop, and Audrey is descended from a Bearder/Ellis marriage.

Any information would be most appreciated......
my Ellis website is at: http://members.shaw.ca/paula.carr

A little late (a year), but I just saw your message.
I don't think there is a link, although my great grandfather, Adam, did come from Germany, or Bavaria, to be exact. There may have been a link four generations ago, but I am not advanced enough in my study of the Paffs to be of help.

I found your Adam and Gertrude at www.familysearch.com long ago. He was born in 1824 in Germany. Gertrude was born in 1828 in Germany. Married on 18 Nov 1847 in Johnstown,Cambria,Pa. I found this for my search of mom's side of the family. My ggreat grandfather was named Joseph and he married Elizabeth Samsall. One of Adam and Gertrude's kids was named Joseph. Right now I can't prove that he is the one. Maybe we are related though. I'll post any updates I find
