Are there any Paepke Family reunions?

Are there any Paepke Family reunions?

First, some background: My branch of the Paepke family is from Pierson, Michigan (north of Grand Rapids). Before this my Great-Grandfather and his family spent a short time in Wisconsin just after immigration from the Mecklenburg, Germany area.

Is anybody aware of any Paepke family reunions in Michigan? It would be nice to attend one and jumpstart some of my data collecting!

Thanks!

Ann,
I don't know of any reunions, sorry. I was wondering if your Grandmother Clara may have been related to our Paepke's. Carl Paepke and Ernestine Beitz were married in Roxbury and lived in Springfield Twp, Wisconsin. I believe they may have went to Brown Co., South Dakota sometime between 1880-1920. They were listed as divorced in 1880 (Springfield Twp. Census) and Carl appeared to have remarried, if it was the same one. They had a daughter Emma born in 1878. Then in 1897, their daughter Ada was born, in Brown Co., South Dakota. Did they get back together, remarry or what? I know there was also a daughter Anna, but I can't find any information on her. We have pictures of Anna and Ada as young women and they appear to be quite close in age.
Please let me know if you have any information at all.

Ann--I attended a Paepke reunion near Roxbury, WI a few years ago. They are held every year. I would guess there were 100 present. The person you need to contact is Paul Wolter, E8747 Co. P, Wisconsin Dells, WI, 53965 (Phone 608-254-7979). My branch of the family came to Roxbury, Wisconsin in 1854 where they lived until 1879 when they started moving on to Aberdeen, S. D. where they still live. I'm sure that Paul has all the data you need to trace Clara's branch of the tree. Good luck. Paul has actually been to Altentreptow in Germany where the Paepkes came from. He even stayed in the town and visited the church where they were all baptized. Keep in touch. The Rev.

Vera--We are related. Ada and Anna were sisters to my grandpa Bill born 1883 in Brown County, SD. I knew Ada. In fact her daughter, Erna, my godmother, just died last year. Anna was gone before I was around. I have traced the Paepkes back to Adam...i. e., Adam Paepke who was born in 1736 in Altentreptow, Germany. Hope to hear more from you. God bless--Bill Paepke Email me at abpep42@rapidcity.net.
