Pacey Family Lincolnshire - Richard Pacey b 1520 Married to Rose Sleaford

Hi Guys

I have my family tree back to what I believe to be my earliest Pacey ancestor I can find. That would be Richard Pacey b abt 1520 who was married to Rose Sleaford.

My most recent Pacey connection is Elizabeth Pacey b. 10 Feb 1716 From Navenby. She was married to Richard Singleton b. 27 Oct 1712 from Preston. They were married 10 Jan 1736 Beckingham. So I hope that I have gotten this entire connection in the correct sequence. If anyone has the same connections and can confirm this I would really appreciate it.

I am doing a visit to Bassingham in July so if anyone wants any pics let me know. I am going to see what factual information I can find.

Thanks Kerry

Pacey's in Yorkshire

Seems most English Paceys come from Lincolnshire. My ancestor Thomas Pacey, born Oct 1814 (wife Maria Simpson), came from Leeds, Yorkshire to US sometime before 1842. His parents may have been William and Hannah. Can anyone confirm or add more info?

I know this thread is quite old, but is there anyone who has gone back further than George William and Sarah Sophia Baylis. I am the son of Robert George b1929 and as my dads parents died when he was in his teens I never really had much to go on regarding my family history. Can also give as much info on my immediate family if anybody want's it
Dear Gloria

Thank you ever so much for replying to my ancient message, and I am so sorry to have taken almost 18 months to reply - I stumbled across your response only last night while idly typing family names and locations into Google!

I have to say I don't think there is likely to be a family connection between our Paceys - unless yours were in Nottinghamshire before Bristol? Your message has, however, solved the mystery of who Henry Wells Pacey was - I've kept coming across references to him, but haven't managed to work out how he linked in to my tree (answer being he probably doesn't, but you never know). The Henry and John Pacey of Northbrook Road, however, are mine (Son and Grandson of Henry from Nottingham).

Thank you very much again for taking the time to reply to me, and sorry for taking so long to get back to you!

Best wishes

Emily Westcott nee Shields

Hello estelle,
Whilst researching my Nobles family history I have discovered your posting. I am looking for a connection between Walter George Pacey Nobles and my Nobles/Pacey branch. Walter's photograph, complete with his DOB, 23 Nov. 1876 in Lucknow, India, was found amongst a collection of old family photo's. His father Richard Nobles was born c1839 in Duston, Northants, and married Ruth Bowring of Charminster, Dorset.Richard was in the army and other children were born in India and Ireland. He eventually settled in Dorset as did Walter and his wife,Eva Rebecca Baker.
My great-great grandfather, John Nobles,1802, from Northants was married to Elizabeth Pacey, 1803, of Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire.I can't find the missing link between them and Walter.
Does any of this sound familiar?

Hi Bob
Nice to hear from you presume you can go further back I can go to Benjamin 1779 son of Benjamin 1734 son of Thomas 1688. Recently the tree has gone considerably sideways so would be pleased if you have any more info on your part. I had got Eileen Gertrude as born Dec 14 1916 in Waterford so obviously my mistake but I haven't got any of her descendants
Regards Val

I was a Pacey & have traced my Paceys back to 1734 at Blisworth, Northampton. Some of the families were quite large. I also have a list of Paceys that I haven't fitted into my direct family. I don't have a John James with that birthdate in my direct line but we could connect further back as that is about the time my grandfather was born

I HAD THE PLEASURE TO KNOW HIM IN HIS LATER YEARS AND HE HAD THE NICKNAME OF WILLY N.
HE USED TO REMINICE ABOUT HIS TIME IN SOUTH AFRICA DURING THE BOER WAR AND I REMEMBER ONCE WHEN HE CAME TO LUNCH WITH MY GRANDPARENTS (ALBERT WALTER MONTAGUE NOBLES & EDITH CONSTANCE NOBLES),MY PARENTS,MYSELF & MY BROTHER MARTIN, HE DISCRIBED IN RATHER TOO MUCH DETAIL THE ATTRIBUTES OF THE NATIVE AFRICAN WOMEN HE HAD SEEN! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE PHOTOS ETC YOU HAVE OF HIM.
HE HAD BROTHERS CALLED "EDDIE" WHO WAS A CHELSEA PENSIONER AND ERNEST CLEMENT WHO WAS THE YOUNGEST & BORN IN DUBLIN IN 1880. I THINK THERE WERE OTHER BROTHERS BUT NO DETAILS AS YET. HOPE TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU SOON,
REGARDS, ALAN NOBLES.

I have a Charles Edward Pacey in my family born Dec 28, 1858 in Freiston. Is there any connection to your family?
Charles married Charlotte Elizabeth Topley, not sure when and then emigrated to Canada in 1886. Or he may have emigrated and then married. I have been in touch with David Pacey but he can't find the marriage.
Peggy

Hi,
My great grandfather was Charles Edward Pacey, who married Charlotte Elizabeth Possley. They raised a family in Saskatchewan. I don't know their heritage but would love to know if anyone has any information on the family. The children were born in the 1880s and 1890s, and included Rose, Lily, Alice, Kate and James. So presume marriage in approx. 1880 and birth in 1850s. Is there any connection to your Charles Pacey?

I have learned that Charlotte's last name was Topley, not Possley. She was possibly born in Branston, Lincolshire on Mar 15, 1856. Her husband Charles Edward Pacey was possibly born in Freiston, Lincolnshire on Dec 28, 1858. This information is not 100% confirmed but is probably 95% likely.
Peggy

I am trying to find ancestors of my family who emigrated to Canada from Lincolnshire, England in 1897. Favilla's given name may have been changed to Forilla, Forille, Florrie or Faville (or something similar). It is known that George also escorted European POW's back to England during or just after the 2nd world war. He may have lived in Saskatchewan, Alberta or BC and could have been part of the Canadian Veterans.
