Pacey Family Lincolnshire - Richard Pacey b 1520 Married to Rose Sleaford

Hi Guys

I have my family tree back to what I believe to be my earliest Pacey ancestor I can find. That would be Richard Pacey b abt 1520 who was married to Rose Sleaford.

My most recent Pacey connection is Elizabeth Pacey b. 10 Feb 1716 From Navenby. She was married to Richard Singleton b. 27 Oct 1712 from Preston. They were married 10 Jan 1736 Beckingham. So I hope that I have gotten this entire connection in the correct sequence. If anyone has the same connections and can confirm this I would really appreciate it.

I am doing a visit to Bassingham in July so if anyone wants any pics let me know. I am going to see what factual information I can find.

Seems most English Paceys come from Lincolnshire. My ancestor Thomas Pacey, born Oct 1814 (wife Maria Simpson), came from Leeds, Yorkshire to US sometime before 1842. His parents may have been William and Hannah. Can anyone confirm or add more info?

I know this thread is quite old, but is there anyone who has gone back further than George William and Sarah Sophia Baylis. I am the son of Robert George b1929 and as my dads parents died when he was in his teens I never really had much to go on regarding my family history. Can also give as much info on my immediate family if anybody want's it

Since last communicating sad to report that my mother, Gwendolyn May Hughes (nee Pacey)passed away 27 Nov. 2010, aged 99. Miss her terribly.

Thank you ever so much for replying to my ancient message, and I am so sorry to have taken almost 18 months to reply - I stumbled across your response only last night while idly typing family names and locations into Google!

I have to say I don't think there is likely to be a family connection between our Paceys - unless yours were in Nottinghamshire before Bristol? Your message has, however, solved the mystery of who Henry Wells Pacey was - I've kept coming across references to him, but haven't managed to work out how he linked in to my tree (answer being he probably doesn't, but you never know). The Henry and John Pacey of Northbrook Road, however, are mine (Son and Grandson of Henry from Nottingham).

Hi Colin, just come across this section of the website! My G Grandmother was Clara Frances Pacey born 1883 in Horncastle. Her parents were William Pacey born 1855 in Stenigot and Elizabeth Alice Broxham. His parents were Elijah Pacey born 1830 in Hammeringham and Susanna Vinter. His father Timothy Pacey born 1805 in Mavis Enderby. Does any of this match up with anything you have? Can you tell me any more?

John Dolby Pacey

Any information out there on a John Dolby Pacey born about 1811 somewhere in England who emigrated to the U.S. sometime before 1834?
From 1840 until his death in 1892, he lived in Wellsville, Columbiana, Ohio. He had 2 sons, William Dolby and John Dolby and 2 dauhters, Annie and Sarah K.
He was a blacksmith by trade.

Hi The Archives Dept., Southampton, printed off your message yesterday - 17/02/10. My grandfather's name was Arthur John Pacey and his father was Henry Wells Pacey. My uncle was Geoffrey Wells Pacey (my mother's brother)
My grandfather AJP was proprietor of the Melbourne Restaurant, 92 High Street,Southampton from 1920 to when it was bombed and destroyed on 30 Nov. 1940. My mother, brother and myself were in the cellar/vault under the building at the time and only a few survived. H Pacey was proprietor of Hoopers Restaurant in 1912/13 which became "Dining Rooms" run by Mrs Eliza Pacey from 1916/17 and in 1920 it became the Melbourne Restaurant run by my grandfather AJP until 1940. My mother Gwendolyn May Pacey was 9 yrs old when her parents came to Southampton from Bristol. She helped her father in the business when her mother Blanche Bale/Bell? died in 1926. My mother is 98 but has severe dementia.

A John Pacey and Henry Pacey lived at 35 Northbrook Rd, So'ton in 1946.

The Children Of John Henry ,I did a search on them Harry J married Mary D Stockford 1927,they had 3 children Harry J 1928,Robert G 1929, Dorothy 1931,
Alexander G married Frances James 1932they had 2 children Pamela J 1934,Valerie J 1935,
I think that Robert W M married a Ivy Griffiths in Camberwell,
Catherine S married Ernest Stimson 1937 not found any children
John born 1909 died same year 1909

Thanks for the info re Sabina . I had managed to find all her family.
Recently I heard that Christophers parents were William Leggate b 1782 and Mary c 1790and his gt grandparents Thurrold Leggate and Eleanor .
This would appear to be correct as the name Thurrold is so unusual. I had an uncle and a cousin called Theral.Leggitt who went to Australia.

Whilst researching my Nobles family history I have discovered your posting. I am looking for a connection between Walter George Pacey Nobles and my Nobles/Pacey branch. Walter's photograph, complete with his DOB, 23 Nov. 1876 in Lucknow, India, was found amongst a collection of old family photo's. His father Richard Nobles was born c1839 in Duston, Northants, and married Ruth Bowring of Charminster, Dorset.Richard was in the army and other children were born in India and Ireland. He eventually settled in Dorset as did Walter and his wife,Eva Rebecca Baker.
My great-great grandfather, John Nobles,1802, from Northants was married to Elizabeth Pacey, 1803, of Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire.I can't find the missing link between them and Walter.
Does any of this sound familiar?

Nice to hear from you presume you can go further back I can go to Benjamin 1779 son of Benjamin 1734 son of Thomas 1688. Recently the tree has gone considerably sideways so would be pleased if you have any more info on your part. I had got Eileen Gertrude as born Dec 14 1916 in Waterford so obviously my mistake but I haven't got any of her descendants

I was a Pacey & have traced my Paceys back to 1734 at Blisworth, Northampton. Some of the families were quite large. I also have a list of Paceys that I haven't fitted into my direct family. I don't have a John James with that birthdate in my direct line but we could connect further back as that is about the time my grandfather was born

Just to add my contribution to the Pacey forum
My Pacey family are living in the village of Newton-on -Trent in the 1841 census.
John Pacey born abt 1805 in Blankney
and his wife Maria Nee Smith from Gainsbrough
they had about 12 children, I think 7 of them came to Sheffield.
I would be pleased if anyone has anymore information on this family and am willing to share more information with others.

Hi Fiona I saw your post about the Pacey family in Banbury ,it looks like they are the same family that I have in my wifes side of the tree ,John Henry was born in Stoney Stratford in Buckingamshire his father was George William Pacey and mother was Sarah Sophia Bayliss Pacey (Cox)they had & children and Fred Pacey born 19-04 1884 in Neithrop Banbury was one who was my wife's Grandad I have taken the family back to 1797 if you would like any info please ask .Ken

Just stumbled onto this site by accident My husband is Robin Pacey.His father was Arthur David"Dave" who was born in Immingham Lincs in 1919 and then grew up mostly around the Glentworth/Gainsborough area of Lincs and was a japanese prisoner of war in Changi and the Burma railroad from 1941.After the war he worked for British Rail and moved to Beaconsfield and thenHigh Wycombe,Bucks. There are still cousins in the area and other relatives came from Haxey.Maybe you are another relative out there that we have never met.

I've just discovered a strain of Paceys in my tree. I have a relative, Flora Tolmie stenhouse who married John H Pacey in Banbury. They had 5 children that I know of: Robert, Harry John, Catherine stenhouse, Alexander George and Arthur D.

I#m still looking onto this but if it rings any bells, let me know.

I think you are correct, John James Pacey b1872, son of John Pacey b 1831, son of Henry Pacey b1803, son of Benjamin Pacey b 1779.

This is my wife's line, and I had lunch yesterday with Eileen Pacey (1913), John James daughter.
