Aquila Paca, of Harford Co, Maryland, b.1738.
Looking for direct or collateral descendants of Aquila Paca, one of the 34 duly elected Harford Co., Maryland citizens who signed the First Declaration of Support for Independence on March 22, 1775, known as the Bush Declaration or Bush River Declaration or Harford Resolves. Anyone who wishes to join the newly formed Hereditary Order of the Signers of the Bush Declaration may do so by visiting the organization’s web site at: www.bushdeclaration.org for further information. Aquila's (the Signer) parents were John Parker Paca and Elizabeth Smith. To qualify for membership you would need to be within the second degree of kinship back to the same parents or grandparents of the Signer. Grandparents were: Aquilla Paca and Martha Phillips, and William Smith and Elizabeth Martin.

This is slightly unrelated.

I descend from Samuel Smith who died in 1776 in Harford County Maryland. His will mentions some debt to John Paca who also signed his will. Interestingly the name William Martin passes down for generations in this line. A William Martin was a bondsman for Samuel's grandsons marriage in KY. He appears to the the William Martin listed along side Samuel Smith in the Lower crossroads Militia of Harford County.

I believe I am related. A wild guess says that Samuel Smith's sister is the Elizabeth Smith who was married to John Paca. But I need a little help to connect the dots. Can you steer me in the right direction.
