Hammond, Samuel, ran away from Ephraim Pabodie of Norwich, New York. Samuel is 5' 9' tall, dark complexion, and thick lips. Reward - one cent.
[Samuel Hammond placed the following in the "Norwich Journal" in answer to the runaway announcement:]
"To the Public ~ That little man, with a little body, a littlemind, and a little cocked up nose, Ephraim Pabodie has advertised me as a runaway. I served my time out before I left him, and put up with his insults, and all the disagreeable arising from a too frequent use of the bottle. What moved the little fellow to advertise me, I cannot tell, but suppose he had a "bad advisor", viz: a whiskey bottle."
