There were three men, almost certainly brothers, who immigrated to the United States from modern day Germany at an unknown date, but definitely by or before 1856. They were Robert, Herman, who also apparently went sometimes by the name of John, and Theodor Pabitzky, All three were married to German women in Missouri in the late 1850's, but in 1860 were living directly across the Missouri River in Illinois. They lived in houses directly next to each other, and a few houses away was a probable sister, Augusta Pabitzky, who was living then with the family of Chas.(?)Belfast (?).
Robert Pabitzky died, his wife having preceeded him in death, living a minor son, William Frederick Pabitzky. (Robert had remarried in Missouri prior to his death.)His son, not getting along with his stepmother, was raised by maternal relatives, but did remain in contact with his Pabitzky uncles, Herman and Theodor.
Herman and Theodor Pabitzky, and their families, returned to Missouri, and lived out their lives there. Buried in the same cemetary with them is a woman, Theodora Pabitzky, born circa 1832. She's probably related to them, but her relationship is unknown.
A nationwide telephone index, and the Social Security death records, show no Pabitzkys now in the United States who can't be identified as descendents of Robert Pabitzky through his son, his only child, William Frederick Pabitzky, who had sons William, Edward, Joseph, and Raymond, and seven daughters. Although it isn't proven, it appears the families of Herman and Theodor Pabitzky died out.
I'm descended from William Aloisious Pabitzky, son of William Frederick Pabitzky, grandson of Robert Pabitzky. I can identify most, but not all, of the descendents of William Frederick Pabitzky. If there are descendents of Herman and Theodore, and as they're known to have had children, there may be descendents through female lines, I have no knowledge of them. We can hope though that they do exist, and will contact us.
I also have information on the family of Mary Frances Jacoby, wife of William Frederick Pabitzky.
