Jadwiga PABIAN m. Wladyslaw MAKUCH
I'm just beginning to research the two surnames above for a friend of mine. A document I recently found at the Chautauqua Co., NY courthouse states both Jadwiga (Hedwig) Pabian and Wladyslaw (Walter) Makuch came to the US in 1903 from Zdziarzec, Austria (Poland). The two were already married when they arrived in the US and had one son, Jan (John) Makuch. Not much information is available at this time but if any of this sounds familiar to someone else researching out there, please contact me. Thanks for the time.

Re: Jadwiga PABIAN m. Wladyslaw MAKUCH
My name is Greg Debogorski and my grandmother's name was Jadwiga (Hedwig) Pabian. She passed away about 10 years ago in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Her previous husband (my grandfather was Marcel Pabian. He was a Polish Military Officer. He was captured by the SS and taken to Aushwitz (sp?) and was killed by firing squad. He was close to Marshal Pesewtski (sp?). I do have family tree information on Jadwiga (use to be Eismont). But am looking for family connections to Marcel.
Thanks
Greg

Re: Jadwiga PABIAN m. Wladyslaw MAKUCH
Since posting my initial query, I've found much info on the Makuch and Pabian families who lived here in Chautauqua Co., NY. Although your Jadwiga/Hedwig is not my friend's Jadwiga/Hedwig, perhaps there is a connection somewhere. Do you know where your Pabians came from? I have Parish records that show my PabiansPabijans as coming from Zdziarzec, Austria which was and is now Poland.

Re: Jadwiga PABIAN m. Wladyslaw MAKUCH
Hi, I recently interviewed my Great Aunt who had been born in Kowel,Poland (now Ukraine). While listening to the interview she mentioned the following information:
her Uncle Marcel (who later (meaning after 193?) became an Office in the Polish military.
her Uncle Marcel's brother Antosz
They where most likely from the Pabian family. For a while they lived in Kiwerce and nearby Lutsk.
I would be happy to hear about any information about their whereabouts/history
