Hi, Dawn,
I am interested in anything you have. Have you written up a family tree at all? That would be a good start, with names, birthdates, spouses, place of birth etc. What info do you have? I am interested in all of it.

Hello...I am searching too...

My mother's maiden name was Paape (Eleanor) DOB - 12-17-1917. Her mother's name was Ella and she died of blood poisoning when my mother was 10 days old. I found a note with the name Nancy Marie Paape on it in my mother's handwriting...I don't know who this person is...Nancy's DOB is 11-7-52.

My mother lived in Marshfield, father's name William (William's brother named Karl) My mother's brother's name was Willert. Her father William was sheriff of Wood County and later the Police Chief of Marshfield.

This isn't much but you never know....thanks for reading this

My great grandfather is a Paape, born in Schvirsa, Mecklenburg, Prussian Province, Germany and came to the US in 1857-58. He married in Milwaukee, Wisc. after he came here. If this sounds like one of your Paape's please e-mail me.

He might be a relative. What kind of info do you have on brothers/sisters/parents/marriages/children/parents. I know that my father's family came over from Germany and there were 6 or 7 brothers that came and settled in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Maybe there is a connection. Please email me with any ifno you have.

I really don't have much at this time, although I am hoping to get to Salt Lake to do some search in October. So far I have Gottlieb Paape married Flora Hinz their children Franz (my great grandfather), Flora, Charles and Fred. All born in Mecklenburg, Germany

Franz and Catherine Solterbach children: Amelia born in Marinette, Wisc. Ida, born in Milwaukee, Bertha b. Milwaukee. Charles, Henryborn in Milwaukee, William, Edward, George and Emma. After living in Milwaukee they moved to Marinette then to Door County. Lived most the their last years in Algoma, town of Ahnapee, Wisc. Some of the children lived in Surgeon Bay and other area of Wisconsin. Still searching. Dolores DGrau40568@aol.com

Green Bay Paape

I went on this board a number of years ago, and sort of forgot about it.

It seems that your great grandfather Franz was brothers with...let me see....my great great grand uncle, Charles Paape. I'm not sure what his wife's name was, but all the resulting Paapes are in the Green Bay area.

Winford Paape was my great-grand uncle, technically, but I knew him as "Grandpa" because he and his wife raised my mother. He was born around 1915ish and he passed away in 1999. He had a number of brothers and sisters that are nearly all gone, but TONS of cousins and neices and nephews. No biological children, but one adopted daughter (my mother).

It looks like there may be some matches to your Paape family posting in Milwaukee's German papers, even though your family group also lived outside of Milwaukee - like family death notices for Flora Paape Hensch in 1920? Multiple clippings for the names Franz and Frank Paape in 1897 and 1902?
