WAVERLY: Alonzo Pearl Oyer, 97, of Hoffman Lane, Waverly, Ohio died 6:20 a.m. Thursday, 3 October 2013 at Traditions at Bristol Village, Waverly, OH.
He was born 1 July 1916 in Chillicothe, Ohio (Ross County)the son of the late August Gus Oyer and Charlotte (Urrhig) Oyer.
On 2 July 1938 he was united in marriage to Gladys Louise (Sager) Oyer, who survives.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
His parents; two brothers, Albert and Tobias Oyer; and three sisters, Edith Horner, Mearl Smith and Pauline Johnson preceded him in death.
Pearl attended Waverly New Covenant CCCU and was a retired mechanic for Schmitt Implement Co, Waverly, with 30 year service.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, 8 October 2013, at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Rev. Doug Campbell, Officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio with military graveside services by American Legion Merritt Post #142. Waverly, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home, 5 - 7 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Tuesday.
