My GGGGrand mother is Mary Oxenbridge who married Richard Kemp. The family came from Ticehurst, England. Mary died on the voyage to Aus in 1839. I would be delighted to know of the history of my family in Eng and Aust.
Regards,
Lorraine

I have just found an Oxenbridge in my roots.
Ann Oxenbridge, my 4xGt Grandmother, married Obediah Wenman 6 Dec 1801, Frant, Sussex. Ann was born about 1780, and died between 1822 (when her youngest child was born) and 1826 (when Obediah re-married).
As Frant is close to Ticehurst, I wonder if she appears in your lines at all?

Hello Nigel and nice to find another cousin.
Ann was daughter of John Oxenbridge (1850) Etchingham and Ann Tupeny (1852) of Ticehurst where the family lived. But the girls all got work as maids in neighbouring villages.

My email address is petox@xtra.co,nz. If you send me your email address, I will send attachments with charts showing Ann's Oxebridge ancestors and also siblings and line to myself. I have nothing on the Wenmans and would like to hear more - may be some in this part of the world.

Look forward to hearing from you. Peter Oxenbridge, New Zealand

Hi Peter,
I'm an aussie living in NZ now. John Oxenbridge & Ann Tupney are my 6xG Grandparents on my mothers side. I would love more information on my family if you have any.
Many thanks, Connie, New Zealand

Hi Connie
Looks like there's a small collection of Ann & John Oxenbridge descendants here in NZ! Peter and I are both here.
They are my 5xGT granparents.
I have some excellent info that Peter sent me. If you havn't heard from him direct email me on admin at our-families dot info (I'm sure you can translate that into the correct email address format - its just a safer way to pass it on).

Hello Connie and delighted to find another cousin in Kiwiland. I would first hope to email you two pdf charts as attachments so could you please reply to me - petox@xtra.co.nz and I will reply.

If your near ancestors are Aus, you would likely have either Bert or Bill Oxenbridge as grandfathers, brothers of my grandfather George and we are second cousins. But yuo may have descended from Henry who came out to Aus earlier. I am of Christchurch - where have you settled?

But there will be no problem of determining your whole line as all of the Oxenbridge name are descended from Edward and Tamisen Lamb as shows in Index.A which goes through to John and Anne Tupeny. Then find your Mother's chart in Index.B

Look forward to hearing from you..............Peter

Have only just started research but my husband's grandmother was Kathleen Ada Oxenbridge, born in Kent in 1909. The Oxenbridge name goes back to the 12th century and includes several knights and a canon! Would be happy to provide more info as and when I find it if you are interested.

Suzanne.

As an Octogenarium with a memory to match, I could well have replied to your earlier inquiry dated Oct 2007.

I have records of all living Oxenbridges back to the 1500's but I have never been able to establish links with the Oxenbridge Knights pre- 1600's. I do not think this has been done yet.

Email me at petox@xtra,co.nz and let me know if I have contacted you and if not I will email reply with the charts which contain the information as above.

Fraternally. Peter Oxenbridge, New Zealand
