Capt Clarence Owens' funeral will be held at Pensacola
Pensacola, July 16.- Telegraphic information received this afternoon announced that the body of Capt Clarence S Owen, of the United States Marine Corps, had been landed from the battle ship Florida at Key West this afternoon and will be sent to Pensacola for burial in the National cemetery (note: Barrancas National Cemetery?) This information was received by Hospital Steward Owen of the navy yard, father of the dead marine officer. While not officially announced by the navy department, information has reached here that the death of the marine officer, which occurred at Vera Cruz, had been caused by dysentery, of which many of the men and officers are suffering. The funerl of Capt. Owen will occur Sunday afternoon and he will be laid to rest with militqry honors. Arrangements for the funeral are now being made.
