Paul Ovadek @ wife Mary came to the U.S. in the early 1920's. They came from Slovakia. According to a 1891 census an Ovadek was a craftsman Shopkeeper in Hungary in the 1800's.Prior to 1918 Slovakia was known as Burgenland under the Old Hungarian Empire.Trying to get information on Ovadek family prior to 1920.

Surnames: ovadek, bednar
We are also looking for information regarding the Ovadek surname. We have learned that Anna Ovadek (my husband's grandmother) had a brother Paul who came from Kuchyna, Slovakia in 1920. My husband's uncle recalled that Paul Ovadek lived in Flint, Michigan, and had a son Joe who kept in touch with them. Anna Ovadek married Martin Bednar, we think about 1909 or 1910. Other than that info, we're stuck at the brick wall..... good luck.
