I have traced my Ouderkirk line to Schenectedy....My GGrandfather was a Peter Ouderkirk who was born about 1820 in Schenectedy area. He later went to New Jersey and the last info I have on him is the 1850 U.S. census in N.J.Could we be talking about the same Ouderkirk line. His father could also been a Peter and the dates would fall in line. Lots of Ouderkirks/Ouderkerks in Albany and Schenectady area it seems. I am as far back as Peter Ouderkerk born abt 1686 in Albany, son of Jan Janse Ouderkerk. Peter seems to have been a pretty popular name. Are you using the book "The Ouderkerk Family Genealogy Vol.II" as a resource? While I have found many errors in it, it is a good jumping off point!
An Ontario Ouderkirk descendent!

Hi, I am also ggggdaughter of Peter.
My info states he died in Schnectady, New York. Can you confirm that he died in Canada? I have been trying to locate his grave as he was a Revolutionary War Militiaman
