      <description>MUSCATINE, Iowa - Michael L. Othmer, 65, of Muscatine, died early Sunday morning, October 9, 2005, at his home.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Sharon Phillips of the Jesus Mission will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Soldiers Section of Greenwood Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the combined squads of the American Legion Post 27 and the V.F.W. Post 1565. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the V.F.W. Post 1565 following the committal service.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Michael was born on April 8, 1940, in Muscatine, the son of George and Edith Long Othmer.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He graduated from Columbus High School, Columbus, Ohio, in 1958.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Mike served in the U.S. Army for 13 years from June of 1958 until July of 1972. He was a very devoted V.F.W. member and served as commander of Post 1565. Mike also worked at the V.F.W. for Bingo nights.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Mike was a member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion, and a past member of the Moose Lodge No. 388.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Survivors include an uncle, La Mar Long of Albuquerque, New Mexico, several cousins; and a special friend and neighbor, Chris Day. He will be sadly missed by all V.F.W. members and cousin Mary Jane Fridley.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents and one brother, Richard Othmer.</description>

      <description>MUSCATINE - Marcella Mae Othmer, 59, of 2910 Mulberry Ave., died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at Unity Hospital. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Services will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.  Rev. Donald Swanson of the First Baptist Church will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Tim Carlson, Bob Carlson, Jim Carlson, Jimmy Harmon, Gary Dusenberry and Art Anderson.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Sher was born on March 24, 1940, in Fairport, the daughter of W. L. and Emma Dusenberry Estabrook.  She married Ted Othmer on Sept. 9, 1958, in Muscatine. &lt;br&gt;Survivors include her husband, Ted Othmer of Muscatine; a son, Perry Othmer of Muscatine; a daughter, Debbie Hawley, Missouri; three grandchildren, Morgan and Zachary Othmer and Brian Hawley; two brothers, Lyle Estabrook and Donald Estabrook, both of Muscatine; and one sister, Margaret Carlson of Muscatine. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl Estabrook.  </description>
