Malcolm L. "Mac" Osborn, 86
Malcolm L. "Mac" Osborn, 86, Bainbridge, died Wednesday at Danville Rehabilitation Center, Danville.
Born July 21, 1917 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Vern and Lavina (Fortner) Osborn.
A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he had been employed 20 years as a dockworker with the J.I. Holcomb Co. in Indianapo-lis. He then worked two years as a custodian with North Putnam Community Schools, and two years as a janitor for the Putnam County Hospital.
He married Frances P. Shaffer on May 6, 1942. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Charlotte Jean Gearld, Avon; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Anna Applegate and two sisters.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Brick Chapel Cemetery with Stephen Osborn officiating.
Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Sunday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.
