Orth, 59, of
Tipton, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at the University of
Iowa Hospitals in
Iowa City, after an extended illness.
Service at
Fry Funeral Home in
Tipton. The Rev. Eugene
Benda will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville.
Mrs. Orth was born April 13, 1941, in
Ellsworth,
Kan., the daughter of Cecil and Gertrude
Stratmann Newsome. She married Norman
Orth on March 11, 1960, in
Hosington,
Kan.
She graduated from
Hosington Kansas High School.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Great Bend,
Kan. and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her former husband, Norman
Orth of Tipton; two daughters,
Kalin Cook of
Towner,
Colo. and Gayla Ross of Tipton; two sons,
Galen Orth of Mechanicsville and Billy
Orth of Tipton; a brother, Harold
Newsome of
York, Neb.; two sisters, Barbara Randolf of
Salina,
Kan. and Nancy Schukman of
Casper, Wyo.; nine grandchildren; a mother, Gertrude
Newsome of Great Bend.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Newsome; daughter, Denise Orth; two sons, Todd and Brad Campbell; a brother, Norman Newsome; and a grandson, Cody
Orth
