I can prove decent from Johanna Orser (born 1838, died 1927), she was my great-great grandmother. Her parents (as documented on the marriage registry) are Joseph and Elizabeth Orser. She married William James Belford, which is where the Belford comes from.

I found a secondary reference on Loyalist families in Ontario that shows Joseph Orser (son of Gilbert, brother of Enoch, Grandson of Joseph Orser) married Elizabeth Macdonald and had a daughter named Johanna born in the same year as my great-great grandmother. It is possible they are not the same Johanna Orser, or that the secondary reference was mistaken, which would explain my dead end.

Do you know which Joseph and Elizabeth Orser my GGM was related to if not these? Do you know where I might find proof either way?
