Hi,
Gilbert is perhaps the best know child of Joseph and Antje (Jurckse) Orser. Gilbert was born in Westchester County, NY about 1760-1765. Some of his sibling were baptized in the Old Dutch Church in Sleepy Hollow. Joseph was baptized there in 1723 and he and Antje were married there in 1746. Most sons of Joseph were loyalists and all of the family (except John) left NY in July 1783 on the British transport, Camel. Joseph died enroute. There are passenger lists which are in the book, Voyage of a Different Kind The Associated Loyalists of Kingston and Adolphustown by Larry Turner. The lists have Orser spelled "Auser". I have much info on early Orsers as does another cousin, Debby Worden. Please let us know what you need. Also, could you tell us a little about your Joseph Orser (1803-1842)? I know he is buried in Orser Cemetery in Hallowell, Prince Edward County. I do not know who he married or the names of his children. Debby probably does as she is the Canadian expert. Was he a twin to Enoch?
