I think she was born in Texas or the border of Mexico. Her fathers name is Juan Orona and her mother was Gabiela Estrada. I think she died in 1934 of tb. I just wanted to know information on her and her son.

Hello,

I was one of Rudy's closet cousin when were growing up in NM. I am the one that sent Rudy a new bike some years back so he ride around town. Anyway I am sorry for his passing we will all miss him. I have a picture of Corky's Dad and Mom Rachael in a church photo in the 1930's. If you want a copy just let me know. I also have a copy of the Orona brothers.

La comarca lagunera is the area of Gomez Palacio, Cd. Lerdo, and Torreon. I used to go there every summer. My mom and dad were from there. I am also from California. My dad was Armando Orona and my grandfather was Margarito Orona. They had a huge family and I don't know many of them. My parents had 6 children and we are all here in California. My parents immigrated to California.

Hi there. There really is no such thing as a family coat of arms. Those companies that charge for a copy of your so-called family arms or "crest" along with the history of your surname are ripping us off and that stuff is bogus. A "coat of arms" does not belong to a FAMILY at all, but rather is granted to an INDIVIDUAL. For example, in England an individual may be granted armorial bearings which become his personal property. Upon his death the arms might pass to his eldest son as part of his estate, and so on. The arms aren't property of more than one person at a time. That said, countries also use a coat of arms as national symbols. The Mexican coat of arms is familiar to all of us: an eagle perched on a cactus eating a snake. Hope this helps.

I'm interested in the Orona coat of arms, but the one I saw was Irish. My ancestors came from Mexico, so I assume some of them were Spanish, if you go far enough back. Does anyone in the Orona family have a coat of arms that you know of?

Thanks for you response...my grandfather did not ever live in Texas, but I wonder if your Orona who migrated to Texas could be of any relation to my great-grandfather, Andres Orona (who came from Chihuahua, Mexico). From what I heard he came to the US through New Mexico then finally settling in Colorado. Trying to find any info on him is difficult...I don't feel like he came to the US alone. I'm hoping there was a brother or something that came here too. Where does your Orona come from?

Trying to find more information about my grandfather side of family. His name was William R Orona, b.1898 in Avondale, Colorado. His parents were Andres & Cecilia Orona. I think he had about six brothers and sisters. As fas as I know, all were born and raised in Colorado. Even when he married my grandmother they lived in Sugar City, Colorado. Any help would be appreciated.

Francisco "pancho" Orona buried in Westbrook ,Texas died aprox. 1915-20 (guessing)
10 mi. west of "Colorado" city , Texas back in the old days they called it "Colorado" Texas .....cos of the red colored water in the river as well as the red clay around that part of Texas.
Orona's were in that area at least from the late 1800's.early 1900's
Could he have been a sibling in a share-cropper family, common in those days; migrating to Colorado (state)??

I cant find anyone else after my great granpa, please email me if you can help. I do know some Orona's came from Venesuela S.A. (Felipe Orona 1802-1850) who later moved to Puerto Rico, around 1828, I also found that four generations lived in Puerto Rico from 1828 to 1936. I was trying to make the connection between them and us but I dont have enough Information. I also found Orona's in Spain, but not enough Info yet. Ignacio "Dick" Orona, died on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at San Jose Medical Center, after a lengthy illness at the age of 79. He was born July 31, 1924 in Colorado City, TX. He was a resident of San Jose, CA for 39 years. He was a retired cement finisher. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lydia Orona of San Jose, CA; four daughters, Rachel Sanchez of San Jose, CA, Irene Cuellar of San Jose, CA, Rosita Humphreys of San Jose, CA and Christina Tuimavave of San Jose, CA; two sons, Ignacio Orona Jr. of Salinas, CA, and Martin Orona of San Jose, CA; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass was held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, San Jose, CA. Burial followed in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in San Jose, CA. Arrangements by Struve and Laporte Funeral Home of San Jose, CA.
