Was you ancestor Henry Ormerod born in Newfoundland in 1850? The family's name was often spelled Omrod, Ormrod, Armrod, Dimrod. The family returned to Lancashire in about 1861.

If this is your family, can you tell me the maiden name of Henry's mother, Charlotte. Census says she was born in Ireland in 1826 but I can find no trace of a marriage to Henry's father Oliver. Any help would be appreciated.
