Oreskovich family of Grant Town West Virginia

I'm researching the descendants of Joe (Josip?) Oreskovich who came from Sinac Lika Croatia (Yugoslavia) in 1912 at age 30. He came to work in the coal mines. He and his wife Manda (Magdaline) Oreskovich (same last name, not closely related) had 8 children. I'm doing the research for my 92 year old neighbor who is of that family. Are you related or do you have information on this family? You can see the "Oreskovich Family Tree from Croatia to West Virginia" on Ancestry.com. Lee AZ, also at leeaz (at, you know, the @ symbol) q.com. If you put your complete email address in public it's often ripped automatically by spammers.

My grandfather's name was Robert Rukavina. He was from Perusic, Croatia. His mother's maiden name was Vida (Vivian) Oreskovic. Her parents' names were Josip and Maitje Oreskovic. His wife's name was Maria (Mary) Uremovic or Romovich or Cromovich. We are not sure. Does any of this mean anything to you? Thanks.

My grandfather's mother was Vida (Vivian) Oreskovich. Her father's name was Josip Oreskovich. He was probably born around 1860. I think they lived somewhere in the Perusic/Gospic area. My grandfather settled on the Iron Range in Minnesota which is south of Ely and close to Grand Rapids. Do you know where your family lived in Croatia? Mary

My grandfather (his mother was Vida (Vivian) Oreskovich, lived in the country outside Bovey, Minnesota which is about 35 miles from Hibbing. Could Dumovich be Dubovich??? That would fit with what I know. It seems like all the people who came over here never wanted to talk about the "Old Country". Anyway, thanks.

My family has always been very quiet about details but I do remember something said about a distant aunt in Hibbing maybe. Joseph's wife was Katherine Dumovich, not sure about the spelling on that. They had 1 daughter that came over with her mother a couple of years after Joseph and the brothers then had 6 more children here.

I am related by marriage to Sharon Vernette Oreskovich, your first cousin, who married Paul Alexander Estrada. I am attempting to compile a family history on the descendents of Mike Oreskovich and Mary Petic. Perhaps we can exchange and compare information.
